10:29p.m. PLEASE WATCH MARIO CUOMO interview (Mr.PotatoFace) CNBC
Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 09:29 PM by LittleApple81

Very interesting indeed. Talking about Lincoln (Cuomo has a book out about Lincoln)
Had a scathing criticism of Bush*'s decision to go to war.
He said that Lincoln was planning for reconstruction in the middle of the war. Comparing Lincoln with Bush*... not good for Bush*.
Said CONGRESS were derelict of duty for allowing Bush* to DECLARE war. Looking at the constitution CONGRESS must declare war. They gave him the authority because the did not want to take responsibility.

1. Lincoln entered the presidency not very well prepared to go to war.
But he used the "Bob Graham" approach. Did not get involved in other wars before the civil war was done.
He was smarter than Bush.

5. He said Wolfowitz, Rice, Cheney, to a lesser extend Rumsfeld
and poor Bush (his words) were convinced it was a piece of cake to go to Iraq. Now we have a festering hole full of terrorists and are exposed ourselves.
AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING SAYING WE HAVE NOT BEEN ATTACKED SINCE 9/11? INVITING THEM TO DO IT NOW????

7. Talking about Fahrenheit 911 - It talks about death of soldiers, the
innocent Iraqis whom nobody even talks about.

He says it, at a MINIMUM, raises the questions.

Approved by Clarke? Who cares? Why did you let him leave. Clarke is part of the government. We are not accusing. WE WANT TO KNOW why.

If they don't think it is fair, create your own movie and EXPLAIN your point of view.

YOUR DOCUMENTARY AGAINST OURS!
Go Mario, go!!!!!

9. If the administration does not have answers, then we won't elect you
for 2005.
Why did you talk to Bandar Bush right after 9/11?
Russert said he asked Bandar if he had requested Bush to let the BinLadens go and he said no. Then Mario said: tell us what you talked about that was so urgent right after 9/11.

10. F 9/11 is a good beginning for a discussion. Russert says the
image of Iraq implied that Iraq was a happy edenic garden was not true.

Cuomo said that is not what Moore said. He only said Iraq WAS NOT A WAR.
And we had not taken all those innocent iraqi and american lives!!!!

13. Lincoln and religion: not a member of any organized religion.
Faith: You and I are Roman Catholic.
Is not knowledge it is faith. We choose to believe certain things that our intellect cannot prove.
Lincoln had a problem because of that. He quoted the bible because a lot of it is truthful and beautiful.
Asked specifically: because all the organized religions ask you to believe something that I cannot accept rationally. He said: show me ONE RELIGION THAT THE ONLY THING IT ASKS OF YOU IS TO LOVE YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS THE SAME WAY YOU LOVE YOURSELF. Then I will belong to that religion!!!!

"Love one another as you love yourself"

"All people deserve love, respect...."

"Come together and create a better society"

"There's labor and there's capitol, and labor comes before capitol."

Whew........ where is Lincoln, now that we desperately need him!!

16. Russert: Kerry believes life begins at conception but he supports
abortion... How can you reconcile that?
We believe it because the Pope told us to believe it.
We don't have the right to forbid other people to do what they believe is correct.
Christ tells to help and forgive... take care of one another. That is what Christ did.

24. Candidate with "Fire in the Belly"? Who wants fire in the belly? That
would need a spritz of seltzer to put it out. You don't need fire in the belly for a president. You need thought and concern and other qualities but fire in the belly is to be avoided.

31. Thanks so much for that.
I was offline and away from the TV when that was on. I appreciate the play by play very much. I miss Cuomo. Would love to see him on the SC, but anywhere visible and audible is great for me.

BTW, he was a very popular governor of our state. In the same election, both he and Al D'Amato were voted in by a landslide..by the same voters. Ever since that election I've realized that most voters were not paying attention to the things that make our world what it is. This is not on point, but it came to mind.

I was awestruck at the raw honest emotion this guy brought to the table.

I was thinking that for some reason, Tip Jr looked dis-interested, pre-occupied.
Maybe I'm wrong.
But Mario ripped Chimpy a new one.
