I admit it, I was wrong...Edwards was the right choice...
I liked Edwards in the primary...but I loved Dean and Clark...
Obviously since he was from Vermont, Dean didn't have a chance at being the VP...and I was sure that it was going to be Clark, becuase I though that the election would center on Iraq...

But, I was wrong...Edwards was the right pick...Edwards is the future of the party...Edwards is he energy of this ticket...I cant believe that I'm seeing the same John Kerry, he doesn't look like "Lurch" anymore, he looks young, energized, and his whole tone has changed, I mean, I actually perk up to listen to him...that Edwards energy is infectious!!

all day today, I have been thinking about NOW with Bill Moyer from yesterday...he had on a brilliant guy named Thomas Frank (talking about his book What's the Matter with Kansas? - I just ordered it from buzzflash last night-I'm gonna read it then pass it off to my conservative Christian mother, GET IT!!), explaining WHY the south and the heartland stopped voting for democrats:

There were two issues that people vote on: cultural and economic issues...

that people who should be voting for democrats stopped because they were convinced to vote for cultural causes (which the Republicans have done nothing about over the last 30 years, but they divide people by complaining about them)...voting only on abortion (which is my mother's issue), voting only on issues of homosexuality, etc...

they stopped voting for democrats because though democrats held up the cultural fights (abortion, etc.)...they stopped fighting for them economically...we stopped speaking of class, the different classes, class warfare, etc. because class became a dirty word...and then there was no reason for those people to distinguish between the two parties economically, so naturally, since they didn't agree with the democrats on cultural issues, and the republicans supported (wink wink) their cultural issues (and have done nothing about it)...they turned to the republican party...

The REASON why Edwards is the right pick is because we are talking about class again, Kerry is talking about class...its not a dirty word...and there are two americas...why are the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer...that is a question that needs to be asked and answered!!!!

So, I was wrong, congratulations to Kerry, Edwards was a brilliant choice for vice-president...we need to strive again for the America of FDR...and going by this week...we are on our way...John and John are the future...not the DLC, not Hillary...we are already there!!

5. I think the bonus is if Kerry does a good job and
Edwards shines as a worthy successor, this will be a dynasty to finally put to rest the last of the J Edgar Hoover/Nixon political mafia.

16 years would be time to heal a world of ills.

8. Kucinich and The Big Dawg both like Edwards!
.
Kerry makes Edwards better, and Edwards makes Kerry better.

The sum of them is better than each of them alone.

9. The country will warm up to Edwards.
A few years ago I said watch out for Edwards, he is a dark horse with real promise. People mostly laughed, or said "who?'.

He and Kerry make a team that will light a candle instead of cursing the darkness. America will respond HUGELY to the change.

7. This thing about the cultural and economic issues means that the
conservatives focu everybody on cultural issues while the steal them blind.

It's done pretty much like a "con game", such as 3 card monte the street huckster with three walnut shells and you guess which one the pea is under.

Distract the "mark" and the huckster can rob him/her blind. Just like the Republicans do to the Americans.

Watch out for the distraction!

10. They bring out the best in each other
I would have preferred Clark, was happy with Edwards, but I've moved to deleriously happy in the last few days. Together, they're more than the sum of their parts..and their parts are pretty impressive by ordinary human standards. It's clearly a partnership that works.

11. I heard his radio address today
Yep. He seems to have The Gift. When he talks, he talks to you, not at you.

A natural.

12. I'd have to agree
that it was the best choice. In looking back, I seemed to be more worried about who was the wrong choice and I'm sooooooo glad he didn't pick Gephardt (which I really thought he might).

All in all, JE was the best choice. :)

13. Roll up those sleeves and loosen up that tie Kerry.
Edwards does it and then cuts loose without any notes. All the while,
Bushit stutters, stumbles, talks about terrur, says "uh.. you know I
is a war presidunt" and "we.....uh......we have values. What a joke in
comparison.

14. I've been thinking the same thing all day since the interview
The GOP has coopted all our issues, or at least they SAY they believe the same things, "moral clarity" "family values"...those should be OUR sayings, family values should be being able to support your family with time left over to spend time with them and good morals are taking care of those who can not care for themselves.

Edwards has already given us a talking point "two Americas". Hopefully there will be more.

Spread the word...there are two americas and we shouls strive to fix it, not widen the gulf.

15. Kerry and Edwards are only going to get better on the campaign trail.
I predict we are just seeing the warm-up--they are bringing out the best in each other's styles.

The local media here in NC said today's energy and enthusiasm of the crowd was like they were waiting for "rock stars."

:headbang:
