Fahrenheit 9/11: "a crudely made, infantile rant" (or so says this LTTE)
"As a supporter of President Bush, I stayed away from Michael Moore’s "Fahrenheit 9/11" for the first week, but then I decided that I ought to see it as an exercise in opposition research.

I prepared myself for a slickly-produced, if deceptive, piece of political propaganda. What I found instead was a crudely made, infantile rant. Although clearly sarcastic and angry, it was anything but persuasive. I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who takes it seriously."

The article is at the link below. There's a "post your opinion" section. You know what to do. :)

1. More of the same
"I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who takes it seriously"

I have yet to hear a single argument from these right-wing crtics that tells me why I shouldn't take it seriously. They can complain about Moore's editorial style all they want but it doesn't alter the basic fact that the information presented in the film is on the money. What is it with these people? It's almost as though they're saying to themselves, "even though the presented facts in this film seem to be correct, I shall completely ignore them because the film is edited in a way I disaprove of".

Has anyone here heard any arguments that addresses the message rather than the medium?

2. You should have watched Mario Cuomo in his interview with
Russert last night (CNBC). He said: don't critizice without rebutting. Create a documentary with your "facts". Let it be Moore's documentary against your documentary.

3. Opinion
I posted my opinion which sharply rebuked the writer and chided him for betraying our troops by supporting Bush!

4. A Similar Letter Turned Up in The Dallas Morning News
A very similar letter turned up in the Dallas Morning News, with much of the same phrasing. Coincidence? Surely not Those oh-so-hones, moral, and upright conservative Republicans don't do that sort of thing, do they?

11. Print Edition. I think Thursday or Friday of This Week
Sorry that I can't help those of you all working from the Net. I buy and read print editions of the Dallas Morning News (fashion section on Thursdays, home and gardening section on Fridays)and I stop by the editorial pages to see what the nuttier readers send to the editors.

7. I forgot to post this part, background info on the letter writer...
"The writer, a Republican, served as a Chester County commissioner from 1996 to 2004 and recently launched Let Freedom Ring, a public-policy advocacy group dedicated to promoting constitutional government, economic freedom and traditional values."

9. Comments starting to show up!
Keep it coming. By the way, Mr. Hanna's "Let Freedom Ring" website (as mentioned in Salon, etc.) is here:

http://www.letfreedomring.com

You could probably always contact them by the form on their webpage or their phone number for clarification on this particular issue. :)
