as with everything else in this nitwit administration, subtetly is lacking in this new attempt to turn the country toward fascism. Polls dont look good - all right were sceheduled for an attack probably in late october. Might have to postpone things for a bit (read forever). Is it possible that even the most boneheaded syrup brained right winger cant see through this half witted attempt to steal our civil liberties?

1. My play on this is the Federal Government |
|
has no business messing with a State's Right issue. The Feds don't have any authority to postpone voting becuase this was left to the States.
Not only unconstitutional but if the Bush* administration was able to "postpone" the voting I don't believe that a vote would take place in 2004. At that point the son of a bitch would have to suspend the Constitution. Thats when the revolution starts!

2. The date of Presidential Elections is not a States rights issue |
|
The constitution requires that presidential elections be held on the same day in all states and it's set federally. Wyoming can't just decide to hold it a day early or a day late.
This was all hashed out in Bush v. Gore. (That's why there couldn't be a re-vote in Palm Beach County, though there could have been for a state race.)

3. Maybe this explains why the Republicans were adamant |
|
about removing Democratic Governor Davis in California. Somehow the dots weren't really connecting and we knew it would be hard for the Governor to influence the electoral votes. It would make sense, however, to have one of their own in the Governor's office of a very important state to postpone the election because of martial law. Oh dear this gets worse!

4. Write to your congresscritters |

if there were an attack, very few polling places would actually be hit and adjacent polling places could quickly pick up the slack. There is no reason to postpone or cancel an election.

the "Ways and Means Committee", which should be more accurately called the "Block All the Ways and Means Committee."

in the middle of the CIVIL WAR. I think everything will be fine. It will be really hard for Bush to justify delaying the election.
