Draft Ditka?
Perhaps this should be in the state forums, but it looks like the GOP might be looking at pulling an "Arnold" in the Illinois senate race

1. Is Ditka a Republican?
How sad. I'm so dissapointed. A lot of Bears fans will be pissed to hear that.

7. Not only that, he's among the most rabid of RW nuts.
He's absolutely clueless, which isn't a big surprise. He was absolutely clueless in New Orleans. The guy got lucky to have the right players, the right assistants and the right tiime. His creativity as a coach just ain't there. He was a fluke.

Sorry, Bears fans. I know he was a fun fluke, but a fluke nonetheless. You deserve better.

14. You're right.
Buddy Ryan and his defense were the primary reason Ditka found success.

2. I read that they were trying to get Ditka to run
He is a perfect Republican - grew up in Dallas with his son, Mike jr. His dad is a complete bully, meanie and ass. Apologies to all his sports fans, but that's his family hx.

4. The Chicago Bears won the Superbowl in 1985 in spite of Mike Ditka
He had very little to do with their success - pussy!!!

Did anyone see the late Phil Hartman's impression of him on SNL? Too funny.

11. Bootstraps guy...
"Mike Ditka would be a great candidate because he represents the average Illinoisan. He's just a decent, ordinary guy that worked hard and wasn't handed anything but made it successful"

Uh huh...just like John Edwards. And so very much unlike The Commander-in-Chimp.

13. A good plan
No traditional Republican candidate has a chance in the world of winning, so why not try to scramble the game with a wildcard?

I think they might as well try it.

17. Full size Ditka or Mini-Ditka?
I love Mike Ditka. As a beloved dim-witted ex-coach of the Beloved. I caddied for him once and almost stole his Super Bowl ring. However, I would have been caught, so I did not.

By any objective standard the man is a jackass. He should not run.
