1. From what I can tell through Googling ...
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 06:13 PM by Citizen Daryl
... it looks like a Brazilian hacker group. So probably not politically motivated.

Still, I hope they didn't destroy anything.

On the other hand, someone right-winger could have outsourced their site defacement, like they outsource everything else.

6. Where did you read that?
I read (from Googling as well) that they hacked an Argentinean Human Rights website. Where did you read they were a Brazilian hacker group?

15. I didn't ...
I just put in "innocent boys" into Google, and somewhere among the porn links was another hacked page attributed to "Innocent Boys" with a large section of the text in Portuguese.

Here it is:

4. The republicans are at it
They have long planned to take down the opposition internet as the
election season arrives. Every single one of us and every web site
that supports the truth will be attacked. Be prepared.

8. yep, its a riot
Tin foil hats and conspiracy theory... yes indeed.

The repukes have long known that the internet is a serious threat to
their subversion of democracy, and what better way to destabilize it
than to launch the million virus march. They'll never confess, but
just like all the other evil shit they get up to, we'll find it out
in a declassified national security document 50 years from now when
we're dead.

9. I was able to access a page from their archives from a URL
I had stashed on my hard disk, so I don't think they damaged everything. I hope they get back up soon.

11. Was there anything else other than
a white screen with the words "innocent boys" at the top peft? 'Cause that's all I'm seeing.

Bad enough, mind you.

13. That's it
Looks like they had their index page hacked and replaced with that page. Their archive and newswire works, but all "home" links and index page links error and/or go to that page with the "innocent boys..." and nothing else.

16. My Yahoo email was deactivated Friday night
I have a Yahoo group with over 1000 local Dems on the list, and my Yahoo email address is out there constantly.

Some time between 3:00 pm Friday and 9:00 am Saturday, my Yahoo email account was deactivated. I've had the account for 6 years, and I have been a paying customer for the past couple of years since I needed the expanded storage. It looks as though the Yahoo group is still up, but I can't access it because I can't sign in. How convenient that this happened at the beginning of a weekend so that I can't contact Yahoo customer service to get some answers.

God, I hope that no information has been lost. I have been in the process of adding a website and upgrading the listserv because I was afraid of something getting screwed up, and now it has. Any advice from anyone out there?
