I believe the discussion about delaying the election
scares most Americans about the Bush Administration more than it does about the Terrorists.

My feeling stems from the fact that this plan came out coincidentally with faulty Intel. info report from the Senate. I know we will never believe this government under the present leadership, and now I feel the more moderate elements of the public will also be skeptical.

This move has to hurt Bush far more than helps him, and is reminiscent of Hitler's ploy of burning down the Reichstag which destroyed the German constitution and ushered in martial law.

They are overplaying their hand under panic. It certainly won't work, and will lead to devastating consequences for them.

6. Hitler DID prevail, but
ONLY in Germany-NOT the rest of the world! At least, not yet...

18. When, in reality, we owe the French
While the rest of the world looked the other way or actively took advantage of the situation for personal gain (the Soviets), the French and British risked their nations and treasuries to stand up to aggression and defend an ally that was attacked. France and England took major hits for that war, and were never the world powers they had been when it was finally over, and they did it on a point of honor. Meanwhile, Stalin devoured the Baltic States, half of Poland and tried to take Finland, and the United States just let the rest of the world go to hell. Yes, it was those selfish old Republicans who refused to let us join the League of Nations, and they were the same ones in the thirties who kept Roosevelt from bringing us in on the side of decency.

(Not to snap at you, there was nothing anti-French about your post; you just touched on a sore spot.)

Hitler "succeeded" in that he took and maintained power; although he lost in the end, the political actions and maneuverings within domestic politics were absolutely and unquestionably successful. Had he not gone on a bender of world domination, his government would probably exist today.

2. They WILL cancel the elections because
repukes know that nobody will do anything about it.
Gore WON and wouldn't even fight for himself.
Anyone think Kerry would fight? HAHA.
Even DU'ers won't do anything but sit on the hands and whine and complain when they cancel the elections.

7. I strongly feel
that NOW is the time for us to make a stink about this "trial balloon" before the public gets used to the idea. It will be very difficult with the lockhold this administration has on the media. I personally plan to e-mail some liberal columnists (Joe Conason, for one) who have been kind enough to respond to my letters in the past, and BEG them to write about this. I'm trying to think of what else to do. Maybe some people could e-mail CNN, etc. using that great list of Calimary's. I plan to do that. Any other ideas?:scared:
WE'VE GOTTA DO SOMETHING NOW, FOLKS!

5. Don't be too sure
"Even DU'ers won't do anything but sit on the hands and whine and complain when they cancel the elections."

Some, no most, will not advertize in a open forum what they will do. It will not be pretty though.

15. I knew it was a sin to stay away from the news for more than 2 or 3 hours.
One has to wonder what the nuts at the White House will think up next. I thought we got rid of King George once.
