What are the best politcal and news-oriented blogs?
The only ones I check out regularly are Josh Marshall, Atrios and This Modern World.

What are some other really good ones?

5. boy, you're right about that, at least for US sources
he won't even go on TV, as he considers those shriekers, well, just that.

not that anybody should expect to actually learn anything from those gasbag shows, except for the prejudices of the hogs that appear

3. Those three are probably the best
A couple of others I check regularly are:

http://xymphora.blogspot.com for somewhat tinfoil but intelligent commentary by an angry Canadian.

http://billmon.org has been excellent, but he burned out recently and has cut way back on blogging. If he can keep it going, he's highly recommended.

And one I'm enjoying at the moment, having just stumbled on it in the course of the endless Plame threads, is http://yorkshire-ranter.blogspot.com . It's not A-list, but it's quirky, very British, and something of a change from the usual.
