and I HATE the damn media that props him up almost as much.

I am so fed up with it all. If Bush "wins" this year, I don't see how I can continue to live in this country, and even if Kerry wins, we'll just be taking a step back from the brink at best.

Did liberals 20 or 30 years ago have to deal with this? With the endless blathering on of the mindless rightwing whores like Hannity and O'Reilly, pounding away day after day with their phony RW talking points (and then the "nonpartisan" pundits follow suit)(and people actually FALL for it!!!).

Were they subjected to so much indignity by the media of the time?

I'm so SICK of this administration, and SICK of this media.

1. but how do you REALLY feel?
20 years ago reagan worshipping was in full tilt. but reagan at least was a formidable political presence. the media was overly enthralled by reagan, but it seemed not to depart from the usual, i.e., no more than the media was enthralled by jfk once upon a time.

30 years ago, the media was bringing down nixon. fellow republicans were backing away from him and the media was calling for his head. all this for the sort of things that, today, would have gotten buried on page 27 or gotten the plumbers a senate seat.

somehow nixon missed the memo on how to proudly and defiantly wrap himself in the flag and say, sure i broke laws and perverted the constitution, but i did it for the good of my country!

it is absoloutely AMAZING to compare the republican party today with the republican party during nixon's time; to compare the media today with the media during nixon's time.

how far we have fallen!

3. All the more reason to unplug
and do someting worthwhile with some of that energy.
In the 60s, I remember the daily body counts on the nightly news - plus more of the same liberal vx conservative nattering surrounding the Vietnam War,

Most of the nwes was not balanced then either.
