Day after Democratic Convention ends |
|
Not before because that would smell too bad even for this bunch.
I see Cheney resigning and Shrub appointing Pataki (sp) Gov of NY. His campaign would focus on trying to win NJ, PA, other NE states.

First of all, if Cheney were to resign, I believe the Speaker of the House rises to position of VP because he is next in line. That is what happened when Agnew resigned in disgrace. Gerald Ford was the Speaker of the house and became VP. I believe there is a succession rule you have to follow----not that I'd put anything past this Administration but that is the way it is "supposed" to work. Secondly, Pataki, while "ok" as far as most New Yorkers are concerned is certainly no rock star. Aside from PA, any heavy spending of money in the NE would be a waste of money and I doubt it will happen.

3. Ford was not Speaker of the House |
|
The House was controlled by the Democrats at the time. Nixon named Ford subject to confirmation. The same thing happened when Ford became President on Nixon's resignation and he named Rockefeller as VP.

Happened when Agnew resigned. Nixon chose Ford over Connelly, Rockefeller and Reagan.

5. I hope he picks Santorum or some other extreme right wing asshole |
|
Then we can push the extreme right-wing issue. A moderate Republican would be harder to beat.
