Does the Patriot Act give Ashcroft the power to cancel the elections?... |
|
...or does it still take a constitutional amendment?

1. Bev Harris just reported on AAR that Ashcroft is 'asking for permission' |
|
to have the authority to cancel elections. I don't know who he has asked - but as Bev pointed out, this is very serious and needs to be stomped down asap.

We all know that if he "gets permission" to do something, he does it. The thought that our right to vote could rest in his hands is very bad news. :scared:

There is nothing in the Patriot Act about elections.
...and there is also no reason a Constitutional Amendment would be required.
I would imagine that a majority of Congress would be enough to either allow or prevent election postponement.

5. top lawyers in the Bush cabal said toture was OK under the laws, also |

They found a way for Bush to stop the vote and get appointed president also. No doubt in my mind they have the arrogance and the will to find legal way to hand Bush a cancellation of elections, even if they have to stretch(invent) the law and the Constitution.
