Interesting red state-blue state map |

8. I would argue with the conclusions of that map |
|
I live in MT and have kin in AZ. I also counted primary votes in our local election. Counting the Republican votes here, Bush got no where near the 80% he took here in the 2000 general election, and he was the only one on the Republican ballot! Lots of "No Preference" ballots, even more with no selection made at all for the office of president, and one write in (remember, this is on a Republican ballot) for John Kerry!
My daughter reports nothing but support for her anti-bush bumper stickers in Tucson. The office wags are all getting pretty vehement against DimSon and she has turned a lot of folks onto the DU. Rest of my clan in AZ report pretty much the same thing, and as they travel in different social circles, some even in Scottsdale, I would say it is not just a local thing in my daughter's circle.
Yes, lots of die hards in both states, but I think the malAdministration might be real surprised when votes are counted. When I hear 4th generation republican ranchers in eastern MT raising timid (and sometimes, not so timid) questions about what all the current administration has got us into, I have to consider that MT is not as red as they think.
And the locals are VERY concerned about the outsourcing of American jobs, though most here are self employed. They are waking up to the fact that the corporations are ruining American and screwing the workers/small shareholders. There are failures here that have rendered many hard working people pretty much destitute upon their retirements. There are corporate officers who dare not show their faces in Butte lest they get hauled up a tree via some tired ol cow poke's rope.

Trof, its because of us evil trial lawyers...Edwards is opening up the money valve. Scary for the repubs I'm sure. ATLA has been soliciting us even before Edwards was selected due to the extremist tort-reform nature of the Bushco.

13. I'll take that as a compliment |

Unfortunately we have about a 5% chance of winning in AL. Alabama Dems need to develop a lend-lease program for this fight. Ha! Ha!

What's up with Arizona?
Is the Republican support in that state soley due to Phoenix? Lots of blue in that state.

6. Hmm...doesn't show me. |

I've sent $200 to Kerry and I'm not listed in the neighbor search. Maybe if I don't put my own address in? I am waaay outnumbered by the repug donors in my area. Only one listed in my immediate neighborhood though.

10. I think this map reflects donations |
|
rather than party affiliation or likely voters. However, it's really nice to see all that blue taking over in places like Alabama and San Diego, formerely areas of knee jerk Bush support.
Nearly all urban areas are either blue or neutral, which is great news for Kerry. It seems only rural counties are overwhelmingly Bush donators, possibly because they're reflecting donations by ADM and Monstanto funneled through their ag managers on site.
In any case, I hope this is the map the Bush gang are looking at, since it will give them confidence and possibly prevent them from trying to cancel the election, something that would be a disaster for everybody in the country, no matter their affiliation.

But I haven't a clue where they get their data from. I'm in a county in the middle of my state that is gray. Now, besides myself, I know many Dems who have given to pres. candidates and I'm sure the pukes in my county have as well. And yet we don't show as having given anything.
What's up?

12. Though Kentucky appears to be the 'reddest' on the state |
|
map, there must be more red in Texas looking at the other maps than the next most three red states. Wow...Texas...so what is the effect of the re-districting? If DeLay gets thrown out will the re-districting be reversed?
