Kudos for REUTERS on this caption!
First of all, the picture is truly worth a thousand words:

Then the priceless caption (emphasis added):

President George W. Bush pretends not to hear reporters as he departs the White House with National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) July 12, 2004. Under fire for intelligence failures in Iraq, Bush will try to change the subject by highlighting Libya's abandonment of unconventional weapons and his efforts to bring stability to countries threatened by Islamic militants. (Kevin Lamarque/Reuters)

2. A truth you will not see on the AP wire.
For some reason right wing Moonie owned UPI headlines will at times tell truth.

I'm curious as to what drives the headline writers at the AP so as to be so consistently "non-offensive" to the right wing GOP?

:-)

5. Is W upstaging Ronald Reagan again?
Hand up to the back of the ear in a "I can't hear mode" was one of Ronald Reagan's favorite ways to to enter and exit the White House on his way to the White Top helicopter. W, upstager that he is, doesn't mind taking a page out of Ronald Reagan's playbook. They say that since Reagan was having problems with his memory due to the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, Nancy had advised him to use the "I can't hear" ploy 'till he got to where someone could help him with the answer. W seems to be having problems with his mind (probably more so due to a history of alcohol abuse than to Alzheimer's Disease)and he definitely is having problems with his truth telling and his integrity. I wonder who is going to give him the answer to the question he was asked when the picture was taken. I am with you MallRat, Kudos to Reuters for the caption! :toast:

6. He's copying Reagan again
Regan used to joke with the reporters by pretending he couldn't hear. It was funnier because he was in his 70s. Bush is the most strangely, unoriginal person!
