TODAY'S GUESTS:
Ralph Nader - Presidential Candidate; Author, "The Good Fight"

In the CrossfireRalph Nader was seen as a liberal hero for decades, now his legacy will forever be tied to the Election 2000 debacle. Some see his current quest for the White House as a wake up call on issues ignored by the other two candidates, but others argue it's all about ego. What does the liberal hero turned villain stand to accomplish by running this time around? Could 2004 be his chance for vindication? Is he worried about tipping the scales Bush's way? How does the consumer advocate defend taking campaign cash from corporate Republicans? Does he risk alienating his supporters by teaming up with Pat Buchanan's Reform Party? And has he reconciled with Michael Moore after comparing him to a beach ball?

Join Bob Novak and Paul Begala for Crossfire, 4:30 p.m. Eastern, 1:30 p.m. Pacific - live from the George Washington University. Teamed up with Judy Woodruffs Inside Politics, we promise to give you the best 90 minutes of politics anywhere.

1. Is it just me or
is that guy on Jeopardy who has won 29 times getting really annoying? And no, I have not seen all of them, missed a couple shows! I guess I need to get a life. I still haven't adjusted to CNN moving Crossfire from 7:00 to 4:30. Can't watch it anymore as I don't get home from work until 5:30-6:00.

5. I Like Him
and he's said some things that have been anti-Bush and pretty funny.

When he started really raking in the cash, he quipped (paraphrase), "For the first time ever, I'm starting to think I might finally be able to benefit from those Bush tax cuts."

2. I wish I could get a message to Begala
He needs to read Title 3, Chapter 1, Section 2 of the U.S. code live on the air. Provision for what to do if we are attacked during an election is covered under already existing law.

3. Where could I find that, Walt?
I'm working on a LTTE and it would really help.

6. Question for Nader
Considering the extravagant lengths the Republican Party is going to in order to qualify you for the ballot in certain battleground states, the vanishingly small likelihood that you will qualify for the ballot in all 50 states (and the concomitant possibility of actually winning the election), what do you say to folks who would call you a cats-paw for the national GOP?

And a follow up:

What do you have to say in 2004 that you didn't say in 2000?

And finally:

Considering the potential for electoral mischief that your candidacy invites in terms of confused or muddled ballots, the likelihood that the Republicans will cheat as badly or worse this time around as they did in 2000, and the fact that you have nothing new to say, please explain why the "need" for your miniscule percentage of supporters to express themselves on the 2004 ballot outweighs the greater good of the rest of society, which will suffer even more during a second Bush term than they currently do? Are you so embittered toward the electorate that you willing inflict such further damage on them for no good reason? Simply put, what'd they ever do to you?
