what will stop 'terrorists' from attacking us on the delayed election day?
if they can attack us, and disrupt the election on Nov 2, can't they also do the same thing on whatever day the election is "delayed" to?

1. I think they have a different plan in mind
Remember the "early" handover of power in Iraq?

I predict they will move the election "forward" but only notify Republicans.

4. easy: bring forward the elections instead of postponing
Worked just fine with Bremer's escape from Iraq.

5. But you see, that is the whole point
Terrorist attack, delayed election, another attack, another delay, so forth and so on until Bushco just says fuck it, and declares martial law. By then, all the good little sheeple with be saying "elections baaaaaad".

As you can see, I have little faith in my fellow Americans. Their capacity to swallow bullshit without an open revolt continues to astound me.

17. Bush isn't popular enough to declare martial law
barring a nuclear or substantial chem weapons attack on US soil.

Of course if there is an attack in the US that claims enough lives (10,000?, 50,000?, 100,000?) it is hard to predict how any of us would feel about martial law. I don't think the terrorists are capable of such an attack, but I could be wrong.

I don't think Bush would be able to impose martial based on an attack like the Cole attack or the Madrid attack or the failed WTC attack or the Oklahoma City attack.

8. Oh, that's simple and foolproof --
the terrorists are only being paid to attack during the election, certainly not during the payers' own chosen selection day.

11. If we're so much safer WHY do we need to postpone them?
Bush says we are safer now than we've ever been, so WHY the need to postpone elections when we never have before?? They're trying to have it both ways!

12. Half the population doesn't bother anyway
and half of those don't even know there is an election. Of those who do vote, half would crawl out of their deathbeds if they have to, to vote. All this talk is a dumya distraction to drum up fear. I think what it will actually do is make people more determined to vote.

13. Fortunately
Virtually all of the news media has reported the fact that the election cannot be changed without a supermajority vote in the Congress. Constitution pretty much decided to make such a delay very difficult to do in order to prevent a president from deciding to delay an election until the situation for him was better.

19. being hypothetical
since we don't know if such attacks are even planned, much less who will be actually doing them. Starting "terrorist" attacks to scare an electorate is an old CIA m.o. in other countries, after all. If it happens, how will we know who did it? By trusting the word of the very people that benefit from it?

Actually, Ithink they just plan to disrupt Democratic voters and then use the disruption to justify another coup.

20. The fact they don't exist? Why would someone attack us? What's the
reason? What are their resources? What would it accomplish?

Think like a 'terrorist'. What's the POINT? Hell the entire world knows that WE AMERICANS hate bush too.
