7. I'd walk out onto my street and start talking with my neighbors... |
|
...and see what they want to do. Then we'd send a representitive to the next neighborhood, and see what they wanted to do, and so on until we could call a larger meeting of all the representitives, and see what we all wanted to do about it.
Then we'd do it.
Then again, I live in Madison, and we do everything that way here. :)

With a stroke of a pen from Bushit.....Martial Law is declared...FEMA takes over the country...The Constitution is suspended, Congress is bypassed!. ALL areas of our lives are now controlled by FEMA from banking ,transportation, food allocation to employment....EVERYTHING....... The fun part of Martial law is it exists for AT LEAST 6 months and there is NOTHING anyone can do about it.THERE is NOTHING written into Martial Law on how to GIVE THE COUNTRY BACK TO THE PEOPLE! If this ever happened....IT would be ALL OVER>....It would make the last civil war look like a picnic......We have alot more guns in this country now. Seriously....pray it never comes to this......OR

spread thin across the world now? This is a big country. If they pull the troops home, They would lose their control of other peoples countries. Can't be having that either. throw the criminals in prison and ship them to the Netherlands. With some luck, we could see peace in our lifetimes. Clinton almost did it.

stating that military troops cannot put down the citizenry on American soil--or is that just tradition? I know the National Guard helps with national disasters, riots, etc, but I seem to recall someone saying that actual army, navy, marine, air force troops have never been used against American citizens on American soil. Someone please help on this.

21. The net would Have to go... |
|
It wouldn't be difficult for the feds to close down the net. There's only about 6000 ISPs in the US, if i'm not mistaken .... if you look at an ISP like a fan rake - they have vays of choking it off before the spray.
If anyone has info/link on this, please post. New regulations allow the FBI (?) to do this. I'm not scarmongering, I KNOW I read this.

24. Shutting down the net will shut down commerce as well |
|
Shut down commerce then there goes the tax money. No, shutting down the net is not a viable tactic for Bu$h. Of course, they could shut-down certain 'pinko' sites. But this would not stop internet communication, it would just go to off-shore ISP sites. You can bet the geeks would have something to say about trying to cheney the 'net.
I doubt Cheney/Bu$h, Neocons or the PNAC groups would survive the backlash from martial law. Nor would the mercs.
I have doubts that local/state police would honor the declaration of martial law. Probably not even the normal military.

I'm the Canadian half of an American/Canadian marriage. We stay here for some personal reasons right now, but if the U.S. goes any further down the rabbit hole, we will take what we can and head for Vancouver. To be frank though, I really don't think it will happen. Even with the "election postponement" talk I think Kerry/Edwards is going to kick some serious Shrub/Cheney ass and all things will eventually get back to normal. Jobs will come back, the economy will grow, peoples dispositions will improve, RW talkers will be so happy wallowing in the misery that is a real government, but making shit loads of money again, foreign countries will re-establishing good relations with the U.S. Optimistic you say? After 4 years of the worlds leading class pack of the most narrow sighted, bigotted, imbecilic, lying pack of thieves to ever take office, ya gotta be!

19. The USA is too big to control with martial law. |
|
There are just too many square miles to account for, too much diversity in the different states, and the population is very well armed to the teeth.
Worst case scenario, what I can see happening is the different state governments taking control, and eventually the US splits into several countries, IE the old Soviet Union.

36. i was thinking more like Yugoslavia as it broke up in violence |
|
but, if it happens, and it may take a week a month or a year, but i think there will be open, armed insurrection that even the army, air force, and marines could not stop quickly....there are over 200,000,000 firearms in the hands of the people. i would expect that police stations across America quickly would come under attack.
water supplies would be poisoned, railroad lines and manufacturing factories sabotaged, seaports burned, the power grid would go down pretty quickly, interstate highways would resemble something out of the film mad max, and America's enemies would have the green light to do whatever they wanted to do with the US having to deal with its internal chaos.
modern life crawls upon the razor's edge. a disruption in it like martial law would set things in motion such that no one can conceive of what would come next.
if it happens may george w bush burn in eternal hellfire for bringing it about and his name reside along with hitler and stalin in the pantheon of human garbage.

That's a rough estimate from a few sources. It's hard to say exactly how many unaccounted for weapons there are (G. Gordon Liddy's house alone may double that number).

EDIT - We will come to love the Party and Big Brother.

48. Guns are NEVER THE ANSWER... |
|
...unless you're hunting for food.
- Martial law actually comes in two stages:
1. State of national emergency
2. Martial law
- The US (Bush*) has already declared a 'national emergency'. This gives Bush* many of the (war) powers he's assuming without the advice or consent of congress.
- When in a state of emergency...martial law is just a terrorist act away from being implemented.
