al kie-AEda instead of his usual al kAHda. ((for al qaeda))

i thought, too, that it was probably intentional. perhaps they're trying their best to make the poor bastard look somewhat literate.

they have quite a job ahead of them though.

15. That was my "take" too!
I noticed today an obvious slur so I was listening for more but he went into Robo-Speak after he had caught himself sliding towards the edge.

3. Don't worry, if you get him riled up
he will start butchering the language again right quick. You can take the boy out of the country, but... you know the rest

14. But what? "You can't take Andover out of the boy?"
Bush went to prep school and then Ivy League colleges! He's got no folksy excuse -- he was born in Connecticut!

I think he butchers the language due to pharmaceutical and alcohol-related brain damage. If you look at tapes of him from his father's campaigns, his speech patterns seemed a lot more lucid back then.

his articulation of the article 'a'

like...'a' dog and 'a' cat...or rather...'a' pet goat

when he started up that marriage was between "Aye man and Aye woman. . .", it bugged me out and I'm not even gay. Imagine how childish and idiotic it would have sounded to anyone of that persuasion.

Drives me nuts. It's like someone in Kindergarten learning to read. Normal adults say "uh dog. Uh cat." etc.

11. yeah and thus really annoys me and he does it over and over
he pronounces "a" as a long a instead of the correct short a. I am not sure how to post it but it is not the usual prunouciation of "a" but comes out everytime as "a" with the long dash over it.

It sounds to me like a recitation in a classroom of an unfortunate, ill read, rather dull witted student , who traces words, as he reads, on the book with his index finger, and is not really understanding or comprehending what the text is saying and so everytime he comes to the "a" he says it with the long vowel signature--instead of "uh" he says "Ay".

and it sounds really backward and stupid.

23. Just occurred to me--reminds me of the movie "Charly" (from the novel
"Flowers for Algernon" where Cliff Robertson plays the retarded guy who becomes a genius as a result of a science experiment, but the brilliance slips away from him at the end leaving him as he began. Watching shrubya's old film in F9/11 and seeing him now gives such an impression.

...medication. My personal theory is that he has seizure disorder and he takes barbiturates for it. For what it's worth, about thirty percent of dyslexics are also epilieptic. In Chimpy's case, it would explain a lot of things, such as the pretzel and mountain bike incidents, his bad teeth, and the slurring/hyper-enunciation, of course.

Edit: For my money, we're barking up the wrong tree in asking for his military service records. We should be demanding, instead, a complete set of his medical records.

16. I don't see what the big deal is here........
Haven't you ever seen someone really drunk? Haven't you ever noticed that they enunciate their words carefully? Otherwise, they'd be slurring all over the place. This is all it is with Bush, too. He's just a drunk trying to speak clearly. Geez! What's the big deal about that? Bush isn't even a DRY drunk anymore. Just a damned drunk, period.
