If we're so much safer, why postpone the election?
Even thinking about postponing the election would suggest that America is not safer than before in that before, we would never even consider such a step. There are obviously more terrorists who want to attack us, and apparently we're so vulnerable, we're not sure we can hold an election. How can Bush say we're safer with a straight face and then use terror to postpone the election? And Americans abroad are definitely much less safe in that none were ever beheaded before. Does he say we're safer and then step off camera and laugh?

2. Let's have it next week!
Really, I'm all for accelerating the election, so we can thwart the terrorists. It would be the patriotic thing to do, IMHO.

6. That's excellent! And fair, too!
After all, we know who is running...nobody has done the convention thing yet...let's just all get together for an election on Tuesday July 20th...winner take all! I mean, if you're willing to fuck with the election anyhow, let's do one of them pre-emptive strikes against terra! Take that, Osama!

3. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha !!
You don't understand, Postponing ( suspending-stopping-cancelling-stalling ) the elections won't make US safer - but it will protect President Chimp from losing in a campaign that is beginning to enter a death spiral.

9. LOL! Exactly.
When they talk about "securing" the election they don't mean ensuring that we have a secure election. They mean securing a Bush victory.

I mean, it's very very dangerous to the war effort if a Democrat is allowed to win. Can't let that happen. Democrats make the baby Jesus cry!

4. Easy! We're safer because we're on guard...no, wait...we're on guard..
...so that we'll be safe to...no, that isn't right...we're safely guarded so that we can guard our own safety so that...um...er...won't be fooled again! Yeah, that's it!

5. this is exactly what was said in F/911...
that feller who said it was a deliberate ploy to confuse people - like telling a dog to rollover and sit all in one command.

7. I think this is sort of a mixed message
I think you're right-it's the tactic that F911 exposed. It seems like a rather obvious contradiction to say we're safer and then say it's too unsafe to hold an election. Yet, for Bush and his followers, it makes perfect sense.

8. Reminds me of "A Few Good Men" "Either he was in grave danger or
everyone follows your orders, and you specifically said not to touch him." Or something along those lines.
