He asked Jon "Haven't you ever mad a mistake" in regards to the false WMD reports and gong to war.

A mistake? What an idiot.

9. I believe that was Wolfie's stab at humor.
At least he was a sport; and it's a very small elite that would last long parrying the mighty Jon S.

26. uh .... don't think so
this fuckwad has defended Bushco from the beginning and continues to do so. He's a goddamn propagandist and this was his attempt to deflect things. "So we made a mistake"! He should have added "So sue us!"

I'd like to see him swinging from a lamppost.

I was really hoping Jon would have shot back something like:

"A 'mistake' that killed a few thousand people and cost a couple hundred billion dollars? I can honestly say no I've never <bleep>-ed up quite that badly."

Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 11:00 AM by PA Democrat
"a mistake" would have been the failure to ask a single tough follow-up question. The media failed again and again and again with numerous bush administration officials in numerous interviews.

That is NOT "a" mistake; that is a gross dereliction of responsibility.

20. And Wolfie played the part of the fool perfectly.
If this is some pale attempt to win back viewers to CNN in light of the brewing "Outfoxed" controversy, it's too late for many of us. I for one can't trust them to do their job; especially, not when the consequences are this grave.

It's really ironic that their "gullibility" forced me to out-source my news coverage to non-US media sources and the internet. I'm much more confident that I'm getting if not an objective, at least a more complete picture of what is not even discussed in the US main stream media.

I don't think the fool has a clue.

6. Yah..all the CIA's fault. Completely disregards all the people who were
trying to tell them there wasn't any WMD. That inspectors were inside Iraq. And on and on. Also why isn't anyone talking about the CIA's complaint awhile ago that Cheney was there daily putting pressure on them to find the evidence. Or about how all the books written that said Bush and Rummy always wanted to attack Iraq. Wolf hasn't learned anything but to shift the blame around to avoid implicating the president. His reporting fails our country still.

10. Wolf Blitzer looked like an idiot.
Stewart has been much tougher (but in that patented non-abrasive way that only Jon can do) on other conservative guests. Blitzer really had nothing to say about anything, except for his lame CNN Bus.

And this is supposed to be the flagship anchor for the 'liberal' CNN?

Does anyone have any background info on the woman on TDS who said she was hauled off her cruise in her nightgown and in leg irons by a federal marshall for ten hours over a fine for improper food storage at a national park?

And would WOlf ever cover such a story?

46. sounds trivial, but isn't
she was cited and fined for leaving food out at Yellowstone Park. Maybe to you big east coast city people this sounds trivial, but food in campgrounds attracts bears. Aside from people food not being particularly good for bears, this encourages wild animals to hang around campgrounds and picnic areas, where, if they can't find food readily, they'll gladly take matters into their own paws. They have been known to rip apart tents and cars looking for it. Bear vs Toyota? No contest.
They do on occasion maul humans as well. No, she wasn't cited for a triviality.

On the other hand, she had already paid the fine, and even if she didn't the treatment she got was far too excessive.

Woman's Marshmallow Ordeal Makes 'Daily Show'
<snip>
Clarke was arrested aboard a cruise ship in Florida recently as it returned from Mexico. U.S. Customs found an outstanding warrant for Clarke because she hadn't paid a $50 fine for leaving marshmallows and other food out overnight on a picnic table in Yellowstone back in July 2003. Food attracts bears.

Hope they do more interviews with that group. They have been getting a lot done - under the radar.

45. again, no factual rebuttal
from the right. Heather blithely said "well, she must have done something she's not telling us. I don't think it was the marshmallows." Then, Heather, what was it? Weapons of mass destruction? How can these creeps keep getting away with just stating something and having their sheep believe it? No facts. No data. Just, I said it. Therefore it happened. I swear. Talk radio has made conservative into mindless sheep who believe whatever they're told without any facts whatsoever.

He did a fair job of making Wolf look like an ass..

Another part of the show I liked, albeit a slam on Democrats (but still funny) Democrats, standing up for what we should have believed in the first place. It was funny, you have to admit.

That and Wolf saying that Jon's son could pretend he was Tucker Carlson on that dumb bus. :hi:
