Imus just played a clip of Ann Richards speaking at a lunch yesteday. |
|
She was referring to Bush's pre-9/11 intelligence failures. I'm paraphrasing here, but she said: "This is the town of Paul Revere. Remember, 'one if by land, two if by sea'. He had better information for the American people than this White House."
I've missed Ann. There's a real Texan for you.

1. I'll never understand... |
|
... why real Texans chose the Ct-born, spoiled chimp-for-brains over Ann. That one still boggles the mind.

3. Ann Richards was governor |
|
when I lived there. Moved to AR before the next election-don't know of anyone who voted for Shrub, especially in the Arlington area, where they knew his tactics from the Rangers baseball stadium fiasco.

4. I worked on Ann's campaign.. |
|
in '94 against Baby Bush. That was the first political campaign I've ever worked on. It was a real disappointment when she lost, but I got to meet Ann and she was the epitome of kindness and generosity.

2. Ain't it the truth! :) |

I see her from time to time on C-SPAN, giving various speeches, but it's the only time I get to see her these days.
