The Radical Right whines about celebrities who speak out against them...
...politically, yet they have geeks like Ted Nugent, et al, spewing all kinds of nonsense on their behalf. More Radical Right hypocrisy !!!

1. Nugget...er Nugent has a right to free speech
Just as we have the right to not buy any of his music. It has long ago been established that the right wingers are liars and hypocrites. I remember talking to a guy about Jesse Jackson and J.C. Watts. In his book, Watts was ok, Jackson was just another, well I refuse to use that word, but I think you know what I mean. I was left shaking my head and calling the guy a dumbass. But he still had a right to air his views, wrong though they were. Just as long as they don't forget about our right to free speech too. And welcome to DU btw from another Joe.

Just as I had the right to tell my foreman and a salesman... (I no longer work there) that they weren't fit to wipe the dirt from Martin Luther King's shoes... (I am caucasian)... I live in the deep south. I quit.. for other reasons... but still... you get my point... I think.

2. Yeah, well they have a pretty lame stable of celebs on their side.
I wonder if they are envious. I never put much creedence in celebrities just because they are fameous but if I can see critical thinking - then I am respectful.

Considering how greedy and dishonest the Radical Rights are, I don't see self respecting people supporthing them, if they really know what these fools are up to.
Consider the source.

4. They are jealous and conflicted..
They like to live vicariously through celebs, and yet they cannot accept the fact that "everybody" does not have their worldview..

They like to sidle up to the rich and powerful...and have a few candid pics taken , so they can "wow" their friends back home, but of course "their" celebs are mostly has-beens who will never make much more money in their lifetimes than they already have (unless they make infomercials for some new diet-aid), so they are all in favor of tax-cut after tax cut....

Look at the ones who claim to support Bush.. a pretty raggedy bunch.. There are a few who are "action figure" types, but they probably only SAY they support Bush, so that their "semi-literate" fans will still flock to their lame and lamer movies.. Does ANYONE really think that guys waaaaay past their prime are really fooling anyone when they play opposite a 21 year old nubile actress?? It's fantasy..plain and simple.. But the 45 yr old bubbas out there with the pot bellies and rotting teeth, need that fantasy...

Narrowminded people come in all flavors, but the "freeper-types" are a "breed" unto themselves.. If you are a semi-washed up celeb, who has lots of freepish fans, and not so many other fans, I guess money talks.. Who they actually vote for is another thing..

7. one is known by the company he or she keeps.
In this case its is guilt by association.
Mediocraty, like water will seek its level.

I declared war on television and popular culture since I was more juvinile than I am now.

We are addressing a cheapness of mind here.
