"It is ludicrous to suggest
that the president of the United States went to war on the question of whether Saddam Hussein sought uranium in Africa." Condi Rice, on Fox News Sunday, July 13, 2003

A year ago today, Dr. Rice discredited Amassador Joseph Wilson's op-ed in the NYT that discredited those infamous 16 words in president bush's state of the union address.

The next day, journalist Robert Novak exposed Wilson's wife as a CIA operative. Valerie Plame was a WMD specialist, who was actively working on a sting operation to expose the sale of WMD components at the time that "two senior administration officials" were cited by Novak as the source of information in his article.

A year later, we have a federal grand jury investigating this illegal White House leak. At the same time, a Senate committee has come out with a report that attempts to discredit the CIA, as well as Wilson and Plame, for president bush's decision to invade Iraq.

Some of the DUers who are participating on the "Plame Indictment threads" (now on thread #6) are asking your help: we have a goal of having 100 people write letters on the Plame investigation to a few targets, including Time magazine and Keith Olbermann of MSNBC (both of these media sources have provided valuable information on the case).

If you are interested, please go to the Plame Indictment thread #6. Thank you for your interest and support.

2. That is not why we went to war
This is so dishonest :

< snippage >

that the president of the United States went to war on the question of whether Saddam Hussein sought uranium in Africa." Condi Rice, on Fox News Sunday, July 13, 2003

I would say it was a mix of things :

• The Chimp's political ambitions
• Vested interests in oil
• PNAC doctrines, war profittering, jingoism, imperialism, fascim.

This is just more obfuscation and distractions from condasleeza.
We know she only lies when she says stuff.
