We never imagined airplanes hitting buildings...
despite the fact that we knew of Saudis in our midst taking flying lessons, we had intel that terrorist might, in fact, do exactly that. We had all sorts of clues, it turns out, but still, we couldn't predict or protect. We saw nothing, we knew nothing.

BUT NOW...we know that terrorists will attack this summer and we even know what their intent will be when they do it...to disrupt American elections!

Obviously, Bush has learned a lot during his term. Of course, not about what to do to prevent terror attacks; just enough to make sure they happen during important news cycles, and how to manipulate those terror events for his own gain. And the sad part comes from realizing how many Wal Martyrs will actually buy it.

1. OK, this leads me to a question about LIHOP
Does LIHOP mean

A. Bush knew the terrorists were going to strike using airplanes and specifically hit the twin towers and the pentagon and capitol hill. In other words, do you think he basically knew the specifics and let it happen or

B. Does LIHOP mean that Bush knew terrorists would strike, not knowing any of the specifs, just that they would strike and he turned a blind eye.

Did he know the specifics of LIHOP or not? I am curious because I lean towards LIHOP and wonder if the general theory on DU takes into consideration exactly how much Bush knew.

2. Flying skill required
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 10:15 AM by Lurking_Argyle
I had a friend in college who was studying and flying in order to become a commercial pilot. I understand the basic advancement process to go from flying Cessnas to multi-engine props to the differing types of jet aircraft. It takes years and many hours of flight time.

Do any pilot types know the time needed to get the skill level required for the terrorists to be able to get control, navigate the distance, and strike the buildings?

3. Some guy wanted to kill Nixon and his plan was to crash into the WH...
This idea was out there. The idea that planes could be use as terrorist vehicles should have been on the top of the FBI & CIA's minds. The guy ended up being arrested by the FBI to my knowledge.
