When Republicans say they want to create the 1st Democracy
in the Middle East - even this is a lie. Lebanon before 1975 was a Democracy that had elections and even today they have elections. Republicans can't even be honest about that.

1. Iran had a democracy
That was overthrown by a CIA coup in 1953.

Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadeq had committed the unpardonable sin of wanting to nationalize the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company.

The U.S. wanting democracy in the Middle East is a lie. They only want friendly dictators that keep the oil flowing.

2. I don't know about the US
I suspect a lot of Americans including people at this very board think that more Democracy in the Middle East is probably a good thing.

But our leaders have made it clear that they don't care much one way or the other.

4. By US, I meant the government
I know that in a perfect world, the real government is supposed to be "we the people," but it's not a perfect world.

Our elected officials could care less about Mid East democracy, and a majority of the people are happy to swallow whatever they're told about the Middle East.
