John McEnroe did some major Bush bashing on his show! Let's support him!
Anyone else see the show last night? It was awesome! McEnroe provided an ideal forum for a Nation Magazine editor (I've forgotten her name) - and she went through a whole litany of Bush Administration horrors, with McEnroe only agreeing with her and mentioning his support for Kerry. The Bush bashing fest drew an appreciative applause from the audience. We need to contact NBC, praising this show - and their decision to air such a free forum of good old, healthy American dissent. Perhaps with Michael Moore and Howard Stern - fragments of the media have finally recognized there is a goldmine out there for anyone willing to tap into the largely ignored "Democrat" market!!

I was always annoyed by McEnroe's behavior on the tennis court - but the guy is NOT a sell-out - and never has been. He knows that BushCo is evil - and he isn't afraid to point it out - and, like he said last night, "I'm here to help." Let's help him with his show.

8. Yes, Katrina
She is one smart lady.

About McEnroe, this moring on my way to work I was listening to Air America. One of the show hosts was talking about how some years ago, there was a plane crash and John opened up his house to be used by the emergency workers. I have always had a feeling that McEnroe's big mouth is mostly his sports "personna" as opposed to how he really is. Much like Ali, who had a big mouth and bragged, but who contributed a lot to charities and did good things that not too many people knew about.

21. Maybe it's become a "persona" for him...
...but I think it came genuinely, since he was a hot-headed kid - a teenager, really - when he made his fame. I think he's a lot more level-headed these days, and it's good to see he's one of the good guys too.

2. I agree!
We can't continue to complain that we aren't represented in the media if we don't support the shows that do!

7. McEnroe did everything possible to
talk Nader out of running when he appeared on his show last week. I think McEnroe knows what's at stake in this election if * wins this year, it was obvious when Nader went on and on.

11. McEnroe doesn't mince words.
And never has, has he? I may be wrong, but I don't really think Mac can be "bought" either.

16. No, he doesn't mince words -
He admits to being short tempered in the past but he has mellowed out and matured over the years. He is honest, direct and I don't think he can be bought.

I really felt that he sincerely worries about this year's election and how much trouble this country faces if * is elected in November.

Check it out. Like someone here just mentioned, he had Nader on the other night, and tried talking him out of running.

14. Alright Mac!
1. Brilliant tennis player who often lost his temper on-court. I think Mac regretted some of his tantrums after he grew up.
2. IMO, a really good commentator for tennis events. Mac seems like a pretty smart guy and has a good way with words.
3. Glad to hear he's hosting a good show. I'm just wondering how long it will last on the war-profiteering GE network.

GO MAC!

15. excellent
we need more liberals with tempers. i hope his shows. this "wild eyed liberal" thing won't go anywhere in the short term. they've been harping on "bleeding-heart liberal pussy" for too long. it will take time for them to shift gears. in the meantime, we need to nail the motherfuckers.

17. A recent article pointed out that Mac failed to make it home in time
to vote for Ronald Reagan. That turned him off to voting for a long time and he spent most of his adult life as a "disillusioned cynic." He says that he now realizes that that was a cop-out position. He is fully dedicated to getting * out of office. In addition to his show, he made a really great appearance on Conan last week where he said - and I quote: "Bush sucks."

I hope CNBC gives Mac the time to find his bearings as a talk show host and interviewer. His first couple of shows were pretty bad. Last night was big improvement. Mac is going through on TV what Al Franken just went through on radio. Fortunately, both of them have plenty to say. They just need to find their voices in a way that projects through the media they're appearing on.

20. That was a great part, too!
Perhaps even a good theme moto for Kerry/Edwards to use to respond to each new BushCo horror - such as their plan for more logging..."You can NOT be serious!!" (That just might work for the convention, actually)
