Are Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough doing commentary for Democratic ...
Convention? What do you think about that? Can Democrats expect anything fair and balanced from those two? Isn't that an unwise decision by MSNBC to permit such a pair to override all other commentary? Does anyone really expect a fair report from either of these two jerkoffs?

3. And Keith has a much better
personality. If these two are it, then I will be watching Comedy Central or PBS. I hear Jon Stewart got a pass so maybe he will be doing coverage.

4. I'm a big fan of Chris Matthews...
He's equally critical of both sides. Joe on the other hand is a GOP stooge.

5. "equally critical"??
But is the criticism fair? If not, then it is bias.

7. Sorry, Matthews is a whore
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 01:13 PM by wuushew
that became abundantly clear during and after the 2000 election. He cuts people off, makes absurd points and only has "impartial" Frank Luntz on as a pollster.

9. "Equally critical" my ass!
If you can match his adoring toadying of the Busheviks and all things Republican, which he does FREQUENTLY, to the seldom, VERY OCCASIONAL moments where he says something against the Emperor

(and not even counting the constant patina of digs, slants, and sleights now ever-present on almost ALL Corporate TV Pravda)

well then, I question your judgement.

Sorry.

Plain and simple.

14. I agree, Tom...
He's a whore. He doesn't know which side is going to win so he likes to play both sides of the fence sometimes, I think?

Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 03:05 PM by oasis
There is no doubt about Tweety's hate of all things Clinton.

15. He's nothing like Rush/Hannity/Savage/O'Reilly
He has his viewpoint, and from what I understand in 2000 he was a big Bush supporter... but he plays devils advocate better than anyone in News Talk.

He asks the hard questions of everyone in the studio. Whoever the guest is.

I've only discovered him in the last few years, so I'm coming at this with a clean slate. That might make a difference in our perspectives.

18. Perhaps. I don't believe he asks hard questions of EVERYONE
Far from it, in my opinion.

To Busheviks he is much more (but not totally, you are correct about that) deferential and he more often than not gently helps them with their points.

To Democrats, he is NEVER deferential and often joins in the Bushevik Pundit trick of slipping in nasty insults and innuendos against Democrats routinely, causing a constant slant to the conversation.

I do agree he has gotten better, but that is like saying a Child Molestor isn't as bad anymore, though still a Child Molestor.

Child Molestors suck, and so does Chris Matthews.

How is THAT for rhetoric?

12. They should make a point of publicly ridiculing them at the ...
convention. Have one of the speakers ask Scarborough about the girl that was murdered in his office. Poke fun at Tweedy for expressing his admiration for Bush's codpiece display on the USS Lincoln. Don't let these a**holes stand there and pretend to be journalists.

with a convention-themed Countdown program, and then Chris returns from 9pm-12 midnight, and at midnight, Joe Scarborough & Ron Reagan take over until 2am for a "Convention After Hours" program. This is from the MSNBC website.
