Speaker Lineup for Democratic National Convention!
From salon.com:

The Democrats just released their speakers line-up for the Boston convention, and it's clear the strategy is at least in part to introduce John Kerry to all of those voters out there still telling pollsters they don't know much about him. Lots of friends, family members and Vietnam vets on the speakers' schedule -- and for the party faithful, names like Clinton, Carter and Kennedy. Watch for another potential scorcher from Al Gore on Monday night. And Ron Reagan will make his case for stem-cell research and take some jabs at his father's party on Tuesday night. As for the Democratic themes, the key words for the week are "strong," "service" "respect," "secure" and "optimistic."

The speaker highlights (press release said this is a "partial list"):

Monday (Theme: "The Kerry-Edwards optimistic plan for America's future"): Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones of Ohio, Representative Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Representative Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton.
Tuesday (Theme: "A Lifetime of Strength & Service"): Ron Reagan, Ted Kennedy, Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack, Ariz. Gov. Janet Napolitano, Teresa Heinz Kerry.
Wednesday (Theme: "A Stronger More Secure America"): Bill Richardson, Mayor Martin O'Malley of Baltimore, Retired Marine Lt. Col. Steve Brozak of New Jersey, Elizabeth Edwards and John Edwards.
Thursday (Theme: "Stronger at Home, Respected in the World"): Kerry's Swift Boat Crewmates. Jim Rassman, Green Beret Kerry rescued in Vietnam. John Kerry’s daughters, Alex and Vanessa Kerry and two step sons, Chris and Andre Heinz. Former Sen. Max Cleland. John Kerry.

4. I'd like to see Kucinich and Sharpton too.
But it says it's just a partial list. Let's wait and see before we slam 'em.

8. This had better be a partial list.
After the FU given to our Black citizens by the Bush/Cheney camp, it would be heartbreaking to see the Kerry/Edwards camp do the same thing.

16. Yes, she is. Rep. Tubbs-Jones was chairperson of the Dem Platform...
hearings I saw on C-Span last weekend.

I do hope it is a partial list, also. I'd love to see Barack Obama speak at the Convention. Great national publicity for his Senate campaign.

15. Bob Menendez? Stephanie Tubbs-Jones?
And Sharpton and Obama will be speaking at some point. No doubt Harold Ford and Charlie Rangel, too.

Why in the world does anyone ASSUME this is the list when the article clearly states it is a PARTIAL LIST?

The media is only going to look at the primetime speakers anyway. They'll make sure to ignore the complete roster. They want the public to forget that the convention even has a daytime schedule because they know they won't be covering it.

20. Baldwin and Tubbs-Jones are both liberals
Also, Tammy Baldwin is a lesbian so there is additional diversity there. This list is not complete and the keynote speaker and othere have not been announced. Kerry said, I believe, that Obama will speak at the convention which led some to think that he will be the keynote speaker and he is also quite liberal.
