1. Conservatives hate strong smart capable women
Look at the number they did on Hillary. Frankly they had more success demonizing her than they did Bill Clinton, I have no doubt they are going to try the same strategy here.

From what I understand, her name isn't Kerry.
It's just Heintz. She never took Kerry's name
when they got married.

6. This makes me respect Teresa

even more. What a classy act she will be as First Lady.

Now Laura Bush is a boring Stepford wife who is comfortable in Crawford.
She needs to go back there.

America deserves a real First Lady , Teresa!

John Kerry never served in the house. He started as a prosecutor and moved up to lieutenant governor and ran for Senate from there. That tells me that the rest of this is crap too.

25. Exactly Ivote
Teresa was a registered Republican until 18 months ago. It was the disgraceful, vicious treatment of Cleland that got her to switch to Democratic.
These morons are whining about eleven years of REPUBLICAN stewardship of the Heinz trust.

27. and on the CBS Evening News too
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-06-14-heinz-kerry-party_x.htm

Heinz Kerry, in an interview to be broadcast Tuesday on the "CBS Evening News," says Cleland's status as a triple amputee is enough to prove his patriotism.

"Three limbs and all I could think was, 'What does the Republican party need, a fourth limb to make a person a hero?' And this coming from people who have not served. I was really offended by that. Unscrupulous and disgusting," she said, her reference being an indirect one to President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

2) Make sure your own cites are carefully sourced to provide contrast

3) Keep bringing it up "Well, as I have said, the Lying Bushevik Blast e-mail NEVER cites sources (gosh I wonder why). In contrast to that, here is a credible link with the truth."

21. What a farce!
He says, "Aiding and supporting our enemies is not good for America, regardless of your political views."

If the Muslims are our enemy, why has the Bush* administration spent the lives of almost 900 Americans in an effort to "bring them freedom" as he claims?

Of course, he only claimed this as a justification for war after it turned out there was no working link between SH and the terra'ists and after no WMD have been found.

Stupid pukes!

26. they know it wouldn't look good to slam the 9/11 families' group ...
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 08:13 PM by Lisa
"Peaceful Tomorrows" pays for administrative support which the Tides Center provides -- and someone's been spreading ugly rumors about them, which they recently had to debunk. See how selective that document is, picking on supposed "radical" groups in order to make the Tides people look like they're supporting terrorists! But they left the Peaceful Tomorrows group out ... they know it's far easier to ostracize them as an "anti-war" organization, than as the families of 9/11 victims!

http://peacefultomorrows.org/

I'm sorry that jay-3d has been spammed by that friend. I hope that the person is able to accept criticism gracefully, because I had a similar situation a few months ago with someone who got all bent out of shape after I debunked some jingoistic glurge.

I noted a couple of particularly disturbing things in that piece of spam. First, see the way in which the writer manages to dismiss Mrs. Heinz's background and accomplishments simply by implying that she is "scary". S/he drags in all sorts of details which appear irrelevant to the argument ... until one considers the xenophobic tone. Being born and educated outside the US, speaking several languages, working for the UN -- is it just me, or is the author trying to imply that these are BAD things that make Mrs. Heinz untrustworthy? And why the quote marks around "handsome" like that? A slam at both her and Mr. Heinz?

The piece then moves from implying she is a golddigger, spendthrift, and subversive to boot (through supporting the aforementioned "radical" groups) -- to a not-so-veiled accusation that she is up to no good. A Lady Macbeth type who picked a husband she could manipulate? Sheesh.

And that Snopes link posted by NYCgirl showed a variant on the piece, which makes a VERY weird statement at the end. I can't think of many reasons why anyone would want a healthy 50-ish guy to change his will. There is an awful implication that it was dangerous of the Senator to be married to Theresa ... why? If it's delicately hinting that she had something to do with the crash, that's quite unpleasant.

A very educational document, jay-3d. Thanks for sharing, because it does suggest that some of Bush's people are so paranoid and xenophobic that they make some of the DU "tinfoil hat" speculation look moderate by comparison!

28. Any friends or family who would even think
to send stuff like that to me got the message months ago that I don't welcome it, that I will debunk it and hit reply all. I embarrassed the crap out of one woman when I researched her story on snopes (it was the one about perfume samples knocking people out and then they were robbed). The woman actually claimed it happened to HER and when I sent the debunking to reply all she got REALLY pissed.

Another friend made the mistake of sending me a "rush says" email and she never did it again.
