"GOP= God's Official Party," saw this bumper
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 01:28 PM by devrc243
sticker in the parking lot at the gym. :eyes: I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming desire to run my keys along the side of their car, but I over came the "temptation." What is it about these people? Talk about pious and "pharaseeic"...

My blood boiled the whole time I was on the treadmill thinking about this sticker and what gall...then I started talking to another person who was next to me and she mentioned how she would be voting for anyone but Bush. Whew...I thought I was gonna have to stop working out ;) Glad to know there are some at the gym who still have their sanity!

Our country truly is so polarized...thanks to bush and his "compassionate conservatism" :eyes:

4. Someone has a lot of nerve
I'm not surprised your blood was boiling. I just saw a lawn sign that read, " Support President Bush and the troops." I thought that was sly and rotten enough, but what you saw was much worse.

9. Christians should be embarrassed and offended.
God is no respector of persons (or nationalities). The United States does not have "dibs" on God.

Jesus was not a Republican. God does not vote. The Holy Spirit is not an American. There are no favorites here.

11. Why not take a count?
Why not take a count?

Look at how many people here are athiest/agnostic.
Look at that RightWing site - RightNation and
see how many people there are athiest/agnostic.

I am willing to bet that the left has more people
who don't believe in God and/or organized religions.

I'm not saying that's bad or good.
I'm wondering what the actual figures are.

I wonder if there are any posted anywhere?

Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 01:33 PM by devrc243
and have been actively voting and working for the Democratic party and I believe in God. Whether one is a Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green, doesn't give them the right to use something that is an INDIVIDUAL CHOICE. NO POLITICAL PARTY has dibs on it. They use it as a wedge issue AND UNFORTUNATELY IT WORKS!

12. These folks are in the minority.
I would guess about 20% of the country. Unfortunately, they ALL vote, write LTTE's, etc.

These idiots have been infiltrating Gov't for 20 years, first local school boards, and now the presidency.

The goal is to establish a Christian Theocracy in the US.

17. I've seen billboards
stating God says one thing or another. These are not biblical quotations but fire and brimstone blather.

I've often wondered if anyone could file a lawsuit on behalf of God challenging these statements attributed to Him.

That would be one helluva publicity stunt!

19. Are you sure it wasn't a sarcastic sticker?
One of the Daily Show commentators was doing a segment on religion and made the comment "GOP, God's own party." It was a joke.

Let's just choose to think that this bumper sticker was only a joke. It's much better for your health than thinking about the alternative.

you'll have to cut and paste the link, I'm not sure what is wrong with it. It appears to go to a real (and really tacky) Repuke website.

That's usually the way I see them. There is no more spectacular fall, then that of a Republican caught with their pants down and a bible in their hand.

...no mention anywhere in the whole bible about the GOP, or America. Republicans are in there though. The Roman Republic did crucify Jesus.

As a matter of fact, from 509 B. C. Until the Elevation of Augustus, the Romans, with their Consuls, Senators, Praetors, Lictors, Quaestors, Aediles, and Rich Boy's Club Governing Style, were not unlike our own current style of government.
