The vertical axis measures traffic ranking on the web. FR is ranked about #3000, and DU is about 8000 or so. But the trend is for DU to overtake FR. I predict that during the Democratic nomination convention, DU overtakes FR for the first time ever. If you look at the rankings back in Feb 2004, DU was much higher than it is now, due to the primary races. DU has dropped some since then, but Du should return to those heights during the convention. FR will not get as much of a convention bounce as DU, and so DU will probably eclipse FR temporarily during that time, for the first time ever.

It's kind of like AOL polls interesting to look at but certainly not a good measure of a site's success or lack thereof.

Like DU I believe banned posters still count in the registered users. In addition, there are registered users who no longer frequent the site. Then you have unregistered lurkers who use either site as a news reference. Using HitBox or Webtrends would give a better gauge of users but that would be something Skinner and the gang could use, not us.
