A real Defense of Marriage Amendment
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 02:38 PM by dsc
Currently the US Senate is supposedly discussing the defense of marriage. Too bad so many of them haven't protected their own.

Six senior Republican lawmakers are divorced and remarried: Assistant Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Sen. John Warner (Va.), Sen. Kit Bond (Mo.), Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (Colo.), Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas) and Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).

In addition two others are single. Lindsay Graham and Susan Collins. Thus 8 out of 51 Republican Senators are either divorcees or unmarried. There is also one homewrecker Elizabeth Dole. 0 are involved in a same sex union.

A look at prominate Republics show us what the real threat to marriage is. All of the following Republicans are either homewreckers or divorced and remarried to a homewrecker. We have Henry Hyde who wrecked a marriage. We have Helen Cheneworth who wrecked a marriage. We have Newt Ginrich who married two different homewreckers and refused to support his own kids. We have Bob Dole who married a homewrecker. We have Steve LaTourette who is divorcing his wife to marry a homewrecker. We have Mel Blunt who married a homewrecker. We have Elizabeth Dole who wrecked a marriage. And on and on it goes. The list of famous marriages destroyed by homewreckers is legion.

So here is my Defense of Marriage Amendment (aka the Homewrecker elimination amendment). No person may marry anyone who he or she has dated while married to another person. In addition, no person who has broken up a marriage by dating a married person may marry anyone. Finally, no person who has dated a person while married to another may marry anyone when the marriage ends.

1. According to the Bible
All of those who have remarried and still have living ex-spouse are committing adultery. Elizabeth Dole's marriage was the result of an adulterous relationship with a married man.

So in accordance with the Biblical standards that some of these like to preach they should all be stoned, since they have all broken one of the 10 Commandments.

2. You want to defend marriage? Outlaw divorce!!!
My all-time repug hypocrite was newt-the-toot gingrich dumping his second wife WHILE SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL RECOVERING FROM CANCER!!!

Love those family values! But, as we've discovered the family values only apply to other families, not their own.

5. And have the IRS collect spousal and child support
That should help strengthen marriage and keep the family together.
