Ready for a double-dose of irony?
Headline:
"U.S. Seeks to Protect Afghan Elections"

First paragraph:
"The U.S. military has launched a new operation in Afghanistan involving thousands of troops to protect the upcoming presidential election, the top American commander said Tuesday."

Hmm...which presidential election would that be, exactly?
