RW attack on Edwards.....would like rebuttal points, sources
He's a trial lawyer (evil villain according to republicans) who made millions from fake lawsuits.

Apology to Edwards' supporters.......I didn't follow his campaign particularly and therefore did not 'hear' this attack and the rebuttals.

I think the claim has something to do with some horrible childhood disease ...... and that he won $$$$$$ from lawsuits that played on jurors sympathy to win $$$$$ for what were fraudulent claims.

10. Lincoln was a corporate lawyer; he was nowhere near as virtuous as Edwards
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 03:56 PM by PurityOfEssence
He defended ham-fisted Railroad Companies back when Corporations routinely did things that would make us blanch these days.

When Edwards ran against Faircloth, they went over his record with a fine-toothed comb. Demand that anyone come up with one single example of a fraudulent, opportunistic, mendacious or spurious lawsuit. Just one. It's not the god damned Soviet Union; when they bring charges, it's their obligation to prove them. Our law is based on being innocent until proven guilty.

Demand that they name one; they don't know what they're talking about.

If lawyers suck so much, why do people statistically like defense lawyers (Edwards) and even prosecuting lawyers (Kerry) more than they like CEOs like Ninnyboy and Deadeye Dick?

5. There's nothing to rebut. Ask them to name a single frivolous lawsuit
in his dossier. They won't be able to. This guy was unbelievably ethical in the cases he chose to take on.

6. Everything the RW says is a lie. Name one truth they told in the last
four years? Everything is discounted on the basis of propaganda, spin and fear. Desperado's, or just say, "Go fuck yourself," it seems to be what the children are saying these days.

11. Guess who just hired his very own trial lawyer?
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 03:59 PM by 0rganism
That would be George W. Bush, nominally the President of the United States, covering his ass before the Plame outing indictments start flying.

Or would it be Ken "Kenny-boy" Lay, facing indictment for Enron's vicious energy market abuses?

Or maybe it's Tom Delay, facing indictment in Texas for breaking campaign finance laws in a state that damn near doesn't have any.

Oxycontin Rush ran for a trial lawyer fast enough when the maid started talking.

Sure, the rightwingers love to bash the trial lawyers, but their leaders don't leave home without one.
