I'M SICK OF:
George W. Bush
Morons who think Bush won the election
Morons who are going to vote for him again

Wingnuts who call us traitors
Wingnuts who have stolen the flag
Wingnuts who think we won't rip their throats out with our teeth before we let them steal another election

Tom DeLay
The crimes that Tom DeLay has gotten away with
The fact that no one is going to do a damn thing about DeLay's crimes

Right wing radio
Right wing television
Right wing people

Bible thumpers who want to change the constitution
Bible thumpers who want to declare this a Christian country
Bible thumpers

Antonin Scalia
Clarence Thomas
William Rehnquist

Fools who won't register to vote
Fools who are registered, but don't vote
Fools who are registered and vote for hate mongers

Gay bashers
Gay bashers who are Republicans and in the closet
Gay bashers who are Republicans and out of the closet

Chickenhawks
Chickenhawks who knock John Kerry's service
Chickenhawks who should rot in the hottest corner of hell for lying about Max Cleland

Ralph Nader
Ralph Nader's reasons for running
Morons who buy into those reasons and are planning to vote for him

(Didn't like the last one about Saint Ralph? Then try to grasp what will happen if the Huns win/steal this election and measure that against the fact that a vote for Nader would contribute to it.)

Please add whatever it is you're sick of. (If you're sick of Nader bashing, please, please, please, go start another thread, or see if you're shrink can squeeze you in for an extra session this week.)

Helping Bush steal election 2000 was just the first installment of his "master plan" to make the world a better place. :eyes:

6. I'm not - I enjoy a good argument
It's just the Cheney-heads who think they have a right to force their opinions onto the rest of us as law that make me sick.

I'm sick of Texans who won't pick up pitchforks and run the insane wingnuts out of town. It's hard to remember the Alamo when we're stuck remembering Shrub, DeLay, and so many more like them.

Why aren't their more Texans like Molly Ivins?

(On edit: Yes, I know you're a Texan.)

8. There are (Me for one)
But it is a big state. There are a lot of THEM. And they, for some odd reason, keep getting kicked out of the states they were born in (Hello Georgie - born in CT) and they come here.

Maybe if we got rid of all the "so-called" Texans, the all hat and no cowboy types, and then shifted through what was left, we might have a better starting point.

Texas, once upon a time ago, elected Ann Richards. So there!

10. It is big, and the political machine here is legendary
(No, Republicans don't have a monopoly on political corruption.)

Pitchforks get you locked up. The pendulum is swinging... no need to play into their hands.

DeLay is facing charges, the redistricting will most likely backfire... if we appear radical we may well turn off those who might otherwise already be quietly thinking of switching this year.

Dunno about anyone else, but I've only seen a handful (maybe 6-8) bush stickers, but at least a dozen Kerry stickers. And this is in North Dallas/Richardson & Plano/Frisco areas!

Sure wish there were a lot more Texans like you.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I think DeLay will get away with everything.

And any state that can tolerate a man who mocks a woman about to be executed, "Please don't kill me," really needs to take a serious look at the meaning of the term "civilized."

In the film "Thelma and Louise," Louise desperately wanted to get to Mexico, but refused to go through Texas. A lot of people I know would also prefer to drive into the Grand Canyon than go to Texas.

Sorry to sound so negative, ladies. Just observing the fact that Texas is at or near the bottom of the list in just about all statistics/measures of civilization that matter (education, health care, death penalty, pollution, etc.).

13. Oh trust me, we know!
We live with these fools! lol

Just know that many are quiet because of the ratio of nutcases to sane people. Hell just today a veterinarian was indicted for killing his neighbor's dog with a hammer!

So know that we're working behind the scenes. It might surprise you to check out the Fort Worth Star Telegram for an example of how 'centrist' people can be here. They publish Molly Ivins' columns, and are frequently critical of the bush-gang's doings.

We surely are near the bottom in a lot of ways, but that's the political corruption, not the people. There are many rural people who are too busy getting up at 4 a.m. to do farm chores/work until 9p.m.... they don't have time to do much but work, and LOTS AND LOTS of them are now fully aware of what's been happening right under their noses. They may have voted in GOPers for federal office, but they liked their Dem state legislators, and they are MAD about what DeLay has done.

No offense taken... and please also give us credit for Hightower as well as Richards. :)

I sure hope you can make some progress against the Huns. In not, please, please, don't drive into the Grand Canyon. Try Madison, WI or the island of Kauai. Nice, laid back, civilized places to live.

(On edit: I looove Molly Ivins.)

9. I was not serious about that.
I would truly be frightened if everyone shared my viewpoint. Everyone has to form their own views (or at least choose someone else's to adopt.) That's one of the things that keeps life interesting.

I enjoy a good argument too. (But I'll never get one started with you if I keep agreeing with what you say.)

15. I am most sick of
people who just swallow whatever little newsbite they hear, hook line and sinker and don't bother to read up on things and question things.

I am sick of people who confuse patriotism with nationalism. People who confuse patriotism with wearing an Old Navy flag shirt and putting a cheap plastic flag on their car.

Sick of people with no critical thinking skills.

what is called the human race.

(On edit: 90% of the flags on cars in this area have disappeared. Maybe they were worn down by weather, but I'd prefer to think that those flying them realized that at this particular time in history, flying a flag on your car was an implicit endorsement of Bush's sickening policies and lies.)

20. Oh yeah, also sick of:
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 06:58 PM by Cyrano
Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Novack, O'Reilly, Dick Cheney's face, John Ashcroft's existence, Rick Santorum's preachings, Orrin Hatch's hypocrisy, Colin Powell's silence, Shrub's mauling of the English language, appointments of Neanderthal judges, Bill Frist's ownership of the biggest HMO in America, a Medicare drug plan that delivers all the money to the HMOs and the pharmaceutical companies, a war that is killing Americans and Iraqis while Halliburton collects countless billions, a senate that debates a gay marriage amendment that will never pass while the un-under employed suffer, attacks on Kerry's wealth from fat cat billionaires, attacks on John Edward's hair by rethugs who have no hearts or consciences, Tom Ridge's "be afraid, be very afraid," warnings without specifics, at a time when Kerry/Edwards are dominating the headlines, incredibly stupid people who refuse to read or find out anything other that what they watch/hear on Fox, CNN, Tass, Izvestia, et al., and a country that is in the process of losing its soul to the insinuation's, groundless accusations, distortions and outright lies of an insane far right-wing fringe that has it's boot on our throats and is pressing down harder every day while most people think it's just the smog that's making it harder to breath. --- And that's just for starters.
