what happened to Kucinich?
he is not speaking at the convention.

I thought they had made some sort of deal per the platform wording. Are they just going to give him the cold shoulder?

2. Kucinich will certainly be speaking at the convention.
The names you saw were a PARTIAL LIST featuring the evening programs. There are daytime sessions each day of the convention with many speaker slots to be filled.

I too was chagrined to see no mention of him. I hope he really does get to speak. I strongly feel he should speak in the evening when theAmerican public can hear him.

3. The DLC/DNC can't have the conscience of the party around
When they are about to close a deal with the Devil.

7. No, I just thought it was pretty obvious
What with nominating a candidate who has promised to "stay the course" in Iraq, uphold the Patriot Act, further obscene corporate profits by the continuance and expansion of "free" trade, has publicly stated that he is going to give corporations even more tax cuts to facilitate some sort of trickle down job creation, amongst other obscenities.

We are, after all, voting for the "lesser of two evils". It is best we don't forget that fact.

11. Not me. You have exaggerated in every point you made.
The picture you paint is NOT of John Kerry. If you don't understand his positions well enough to describe them accurately, why bother?

13. Go to Kerry's site friend, look at his position papers
Read his speeches. Everything that I stated came out of the man's mouth or from the tip of his pen. I am not exaggerating what the man said. He wishes to do all of the actions I mentioned, and then some. Go to his site and see for yourself if you don't believe me. <http://www.johnkerry.com/index.html>

Kerry isn't the white knight friend, he is what happened when we decided to go ABB. Remember, we are voting for the "lesser of two evils" this election, not for good.

But hey, go check it out for yourself, and then get back to me and tell me how wrong I am.

Kerry's plan for Iraq is nowhere near Bush's.

Kerry's taxbreak for businesses are ONLY for those HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES.

Kerry also submitted legislation in the Senate last Dec. to overturn parts of the Patriot Act. You claim he plans to uphold the Patriot Act.

You surely could have not read his positions with unbiased attention.

12. I fully agree, in fact Kucinich is one of the very few reasons
I'm still officially Democratic. I support the man fully and unconditionally. But his message is one that the the corporate controlled DLC/DNC/New Dem wing don't want to hear, for it stands in opposition to everything they are doing.

That is why I made the smarmy comment that I did, but stand behind it. The Democrats are dealing with the devil with Kerry's nomination. ABB doesn't mean that we will get a good candidate in office, just not Bush.

10. Jackson crashed and burned a while back
Personal issues that were semi-scandalous hurt him and financial issues that were just plain scandalous finished him off. Sharpton (of all people) now holds Jackson's old seat within the Dem Party.

Although I must say, after the primary season - I like Sharpton more now than I ever have in the past.

14. The convention is just for show. Dennis will be speaking.
But if he's not in prime time, that's an indication that the issues don't matter to the DNC or to Kerry and Edwards.

19. The NYTime reports that DK will speak at DNC convention
According to an article in today's NY Times, ALL of Kerry's primary opponents will get an invitation to address the convention. The same article reports that the network TV stations will broadcast three hours of each convention, with one hour per night for three nights. For the Dems, they will cover speeches by Gore, Edwards and Kerry, and for the repukes they will cover Schwarzenegger, Mr Go Fuck Yourself, and Bush*.

The repukes want to show off their experience and what better way to do that than have Scwarzenegger give a speech.

are there any prime time speakers who will speak against it? I can't believe Kerry still supports it (with minor changes)
