Chicago PBS running 30 min Ditka campaign ad
disguised as "Chicago Tonight" talk show. 1 GOP hostes and 2 GOP guests vs. 1 Dem guest, who isn't being allowed to talk.

Gonna be tough, gang.

3. hopefully he will run an agressive campaign
call for many debates, run commercials featuring Ditka's drunken appearances on TV, his arrest record, and so on.

4. Obama is a campaign genius
He got 52% of the vote against a man who spent 39 million on the campaign (yeah he admitted to hitting his wife, but still), and a favorite of the Chicago Democratic Machine, Dan Hynes who also held a State wide elected position and four other candidates. This on top of the fact that his name is so close to Osama. I wouldn't worry about Obama. It might be closer now, but he'll still pull it out.

5. I can hear it now
Q: What's it like up on The Hill, Mike?

Ditka: It's just like a football game. You gotta hit'em in the mouth on the first play. Make the bastards pay. Never give up. Team work.

He'll be a great draw for the neanderthal wing of the GOP, but the more people see of him, the faster he'll start to stink. God help us if he actually becomes a senator. He's a serious tool. Five minutes of Senator Ditka would be enough to scare anybody into voting democratic.

7. I had never looked at Ditka (no sports person here). He is repulsive.
America adores sacks of testosterone with a square jaw and insulting attitudes. Sorry, but I think it is too embedded in the culture. And that "emotion" that makes them attractive trumps common sense.

I hope Obama, the intelligent, well educated, wonderful guy can overcome voter stupidity.
