Let's apply the Iraq standard to Bush's war records! |
|
They have to PROVE they destroyed them! Otherwise, why shouldn't we assume that they're harboring Bush's incriminating records somewhere?
Seriously! Let's hold them to the same standards the shithead held Iraq! And let's rail on for years after how we still KNOW that there's proof Bush was AWOL!
Sigh... with all this, after listening to the news (AND FOX News), and even seeing the cynical humor on the Daily Show... I feel like screaming. We're through the fucking looking glass.

1. i absolutely agree that |
|
we must STAY on this issue...
they think it would've just gone away with their outrageous (almost laughable) claim that the records were destroyed... but guess what? they were wrong.
this is a vulnerability for bushco. and they know it. all the rightwingers come unglued when there's talk of his going AWOL. if nothing else, THAT'S a sign we should forge ahead.
i'm glad mary beth cahill sent the letter to mehlman today that she did. good job!

2. Wouldn't there be record of their destruction, too? |
|
I mean, with all the complaints about government and military bureaucracy, how are there not records about records being destroyed? These might not be standards we hold individuals or small businesses to, but this is the United States fucking Military! An institution that's been in place well over two hundred years, with one of the most complex and thorough research, development, and data storage systems in the world!
And they can just pop up and say, "Yeah, we accidentally destroyed these possibly incriminating records a few years ago. Sure, we said they were available a few weeks ago, but we just checked and... well, you know!" I call BULLSHIT!

3. You can even get records from the civil war |
|
that show where your ancestors fought -- the units, the battles, etc. I don't know if that is true for everyone, but it is true for my great-great-grandfather. I don't believe that records from just under a hundred and fifty years ago are available, but records from 40 years ago aren't.
