At least according to Evan Thomas, assisitant managing editor of Newsweek. The following is a link to Inside Washington , which appeared this past weekend. Inside Washington
--snip--
THOMAS: There's one other base here, the media. Let's talk a little media bias here. The media, I think, wants Kerry to win and I think they're going to portray Kerry and Edwards I'm talking about the establishment media, not Fox. They're going to portray Kerry and Edwards as being young and dynamic and optimistic and there's going to be this glow about them, collective glow, the two of them, that's going to be worth maybe 15 points.

2. They should be feeling guilty. |

They should be just telling the truth. We don't need a bias the truth is enough. Somehow I just don't see them as capable of this.

3. Man, I don't know. Everyone thinks the media is biased against them. |
|
But I will say this - I wouldn't doubt it if they want Bush* out, with the way this administration toys with the media.

6. people have a biased view of the media |
|
and the biggest one is that they act collectively when they really don't. Different media outlets have different biases and policies and editors and so on. It's impossible to be un-biased but some try more than others.
And the ones that are biased against us are played up (Fox, Drudge) and the other side plays up the ones biased against them (CBS, most Internet).
And the biggest thing is sensationalism because they are trying to attract advertisers and turn a profit.

There is a "young and dynamic and optimistic" glow about them.
I smell winners just like I did in '92.

that guy is one of the smuggest prix out there
that fifteen point comment just shows how completely out of touch these utter assholes are
that means that Kerry would be around thirty percent in the poles without the liberal media?
how do they get away with saying such complete bullshit?
at least make it plausible.......five points
the truth of the matter, of course, is the exact opposite
over and over and over they play the bush lies, without refutation (all one has to do is watch Leslie Blitzer's performance on Jon Stewart last night)
over and over and over they allow far rightwing nuts on, letting them spew their garbage, unquestioningly, while going after the likes of Richard Clarke or Paul ONeill hammer and tong
as if you don't already know all this
what PLANET do these jackasses inhabit?
they have ZERO clue, do they?
