Guess who I met tonight - Karl Rove!!! Eeewww!!!!!
Yes, it's true. At an event in Bedford, NH, Karl Rove was the guest speaker - ugh!!!!!! He was blocking the door to the room I needed to get into (the event I was attending) and I said "excuse me" and he put out his hand like I wanted to shake it (there was a republican fundraiser going on in that room) and I said "Oh no, I don't want to shake your hand I just want to get by you!" He pulled his hand back and kind of snorted - He reminds me of Jabba the Hut - his hands are small but puffy and soft looking - meeting him was kind of like eating meat that had gone bad. . . .

Eeewww . . .

60. Ummm... I think I discovered Karl Rove's identity...
From:

http://www.tederick.com/toht/index.html

"Welcome to the internet's number one fan page dedicated to one of cinema's most memorable sociopaths."

Seperated at birth?

Presenting, Karl "Toht" Rove...

Would this be too much to hope for in November?

I heard Cheney and Bush were looking for the Ark...

Makes sense...

24. 10 de-lousing... er.. de-Rove-ing tips
First: Take five baths.

Second: Take five more baths.

Third: Get some of that "Deep Woods Off" and douse yourself liberally, then do everyone else in your household.

Fourth: Drink something cleansing, like whiskey.

Fifth: Repeat, "He didn't actually touch me, he never touched me," a few hundred times.

Sixth: Eat a lot of foods high in fiber.

Seventh: Go see Farenheit 9/11 again. Twice.

Eighth: Donate five dollars to whatever charity you love that Rove hates.

Ninth: Call the White House and complain about him in NH - say anything - it doesn't matter. They won't do a thing to him, but Rove's so paranoid he'll hear about it and this will be beneficial to your recovery.

Tenth: Add your own de-lousing... er.. de-Rove-ing tip! (or just take another bath)

On a personal note - I feel your pain. To be that close to the vortex of evil... I shudder to think of the projectile vomiting that would have occurred, had it been me. You are a tower of power!

And then you went home and took the longest shower of your entire life.

The way you describe Rove's general uncooked puff-pastry sort of look reminds me of Karen Kwiatkowski's descriptions of the neocons at the OSP. Most of them - even ones who were former military officers - had an amazing wimpiness about them. She said - with the exception of Rumsfeld - that she couldn't discern any of the physical courage you usually associate with a military person.

Yes, these are the people who led us into war. Quel fromage!

On edit...damn those pesky indefinite articles!

33. Yes

George W. Bush's grandfather helped finance the Nazi Party. Karl Rove's grandfather allegedly helped run the Nazi Party, and helped build the Birkenau Death Camp. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Austrian father volunteered for the infamous Nazi SA and became a ranking officer.

68. I got stuck in an elevator once with
Richard Nixon at Rockefeller Center. He kept looking at me like he expected me to recognize him and bow down at his feet.

Sure, I recognized him, but wasn't about to let on - I just gave him a few peripheral vision looks and stared straight ahead at the door for the rest of the way.

He muttered a gutteral "a-hem" and shook his jowels on his way out the door to the lobby. I let out a huge belch back at him. This was in 1967 before he ran for President again (and "won").

But I swear, if I ever ran into Karl Rove, I might lose all control and just throttle the bastid!

40. Thanks Merlin . . . I thought about if I ever met bush
would I shake his hand? I said to myself emphatically - NO! Rove is just as bad - but I'll tell you, when he put out his hand I had to purposefully not reach out and shake it. We are so conditioned to do these things that I had to stop myself short and say firmly that I did not want to shake his hand. It was kind of unnerving - silly I know - but I was glad I resisted and I am glad I made the comment to him.

If anyone in America besides Bush deserved to be brought low by a refused handshake, Karl Rove is it. And I do mean "it."

It's funny how many people here have reacted to Oddman by "chiding" him for not being less polite. I know they're being facetious, but Oddman deserved to be roundly congratulated for showing true guts, not told he should have been "gutsier." :eyes:

69. brings to mind those anti-hitler germans who had the chance...
...to rid the world of the 'tepesfreischer'-and thereby changing history for the better- but didn't. Of course, several attempts by members of the High Command didn't succeed, and they- the German Officers involved in the plots- were promptly lined up and shot. Field Marshall Romnel was allowed to shoot himself, however.
