on the possibility of riots and chaos |
|
while some say, 'relax', others are preparing to take to the streets this fall. some say it'll all work out, others say we will have to take charge in a very concrete way to take back our own government.
anger is palpable and real and undeniable. the men in the white house are desperate and steadfast in their fascism. we the people are boiling in our pots, ready to spill over into the streets.
visualize riots, mayhem, chaos, unrest, upheavel, then visualize america, back in the hands of we, the people. visualize peace, tolerance, understanding, logical thinking, democracy, liberty and free speech. visualize w gone, and an america where a citizen can hold his head up straight and proud again.
i'm no soothsayer, but the very real possibility of civil unrest and messy revolution hangs thick in the air. the apathetic will be run over by the involved. big change is coming to america. prepare.

Not in this country, dude.
No leaders.
The American people are not inclined to take to the streets until/unless the putsch affects them directly.
And thinking that these "riots, mayhem, chaos, unrest," etc., would then somehow lead to "america, back in the hands of we..." is an incredibly pollyannaish view of political reality.
A brown-shirted fully fascist Christian-fundamentalist, Taliban-like regime is much more likely, and there is no one on earth in a position to oppose it like we did the Nazis in WWII.
America will be born again as the Christian Reich.

And too real a possibility.
I don't want to live in the Christan Reich, but I see us sliding closer to the abyss every day.
I have two children and I want them to grow up in an America they can take pride in, not some quasi-religious state where the true object of worship is money, while the leaders manipulate the populace with prattling about "morals" and "sin".
I am becoming so frustrated these days. I fear that the squatters in the White House are arrogant enough to believe that they can do anything they want and no one will say a word. The media sure won't.

7. Don't underestimate the late sleepers... |

While I can't see much uprising and mahem past the first wave of rioters being arrested as terrorists, I also don't see the lazy and apathetic putting up with a Christian reich once they finally understand what's going on around them and how they're affected by it. Some people hit the snooze button 20 times before they get up. Just don't turn off the alarm.

our america is dead.
whether the death-row is a convulsive spasm or a slower, mouldering decay; change is coming.
change is, by it's nature, always violent. how many individual victims, & of what type, are the main questions here. anyone expecting the "summer of love" encore will be caught unprepared & are unlikely to survive intact.
it's a time of paradigm. the possibilities the immediate future holds are unimaginable. only those open to extreme variance are likely to adapt.

6. Do you think the time is right for a palace revolution? |

Where I live the game to play is compromise solution...
It seems like it could be possible, but I think things would have to be much much worse, economically and otherwise. After all, if we didn't have a revolution in the 30's during the Great Depression, then probably not now either. I suspect that most folks are closer to the middle than to the left or right, but who knows what could happen if:
elections are postponed due to security concerns
economic conditions worsen
the draft is reinstated, and we get started on the rest of the PNAC list: Iran, Syria etc.
