Accident? I say blame the Freepers. Roof collapses during F911 screening

Just kidding, but I would not put it pass them.

July 14, 2004 -- EAST Hampton Vil lage police feared the worst when a frantic moviegoer phoned 911 to say the roof was collapsing at the United Artists East Hampton movie theater on Main Street yesterday afternoon.

Cops jumped into emergency mode around 3:50 p.m., rushing to the cinema and planning to set up a triage center nearby when first responders determined that several rain-soaked ceiling tiles had dislodged and fallen to the floor at Theater 2 on the ground floor.

While no one was injured watching Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11," the packed theater was evacuated and the entire movie house was shut awaiting a structural inspection, authorities said.

That's the theater where I saw F9/11 on opening day.
