I wonder why Laura Bush makes my flesh crawl?
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 07:05 AM by mopaul
every time i see her, in her awful dowdy tacky clothes, with her crossed eyeballs and vacant stare, my flesh crawls. like when i see a dead animal covered in maggots, her face an demeanor give me the absolute creepy crawlies.

why do i have such a violent physical reaction to seeing her blank stare and fake smile? ick ick ick

11. Once you kill a lover and get away with it, the media loves you - and she
knows it - and it shows.

3. Well, she did kill someone during high school
Ran her car into his. The police said accident -- In a community her father practically owned. If killing an ex-b/f who dumped her doesn't make your skin crawl, I don't know what would.

17. It probably was an accident.
And a horrible experience for her. What if she really wanted to talk about it? But she was told everything was going to be OK. It would all be taken care of. The doctor's prescribed these pills....

So many questions. Do I really want to be a teacher? Will I like being a librarian any better? Why can't I really get interested in a guy? Maybe I should just marry George--even if his family is kinda weird. Don't worry, take another pill.

After the fiasco of an inauguration, Laura fled to the ranch for about six weeks. Maybe she really couldn't take it. But they talked to her & adjusted her medication.

8. She has the same effect on me
She is a woman without a personality, without a thought of her own.

The says only what she is told to, does what she is told, and never steps out of line.

She is the perfect republican wife, a non-entity in a bad suit.

9. Crossed Eyes And A BAD Facelift And Smoker's Lips...
make her look odd... now... combine that with a fake smile and NO personality, and vacant stare and the combination is very creepy indeed.

It's almost human, but not quite. She doesn't have an ORIGINAL thought of her own. This morning on NBC's Today Show, her interview sounded like she was reading a Rove/Rice script.

"The world's a better place...."
"Saddam was a bad man...."
"He did have weapons of mass destruction..."
"He gassed his own people..."

BARF!

19. yeah, Carpenter was so far ahead of his time. Love this line:

Outside the limit of our sight, feeding off us, perched on top of us, from birth to death, are our owners! Our owners! They have us. They control us! They are our masters! Wake up! They're all about you! All around you!

and of course, I'm all out of bubblegum.

25. I'll take a serious stab at your question
I believe that every human being has the same ability to live a "just" life. That is because the soul, the piece of us that is eternal and everlasting, exists in every one of us. What differentiates a Mahatma Gandhi from a george bush* is how far the personality has drifted away from the soul. Proximity to the soul is what allows us to love, respect, and cherish others. When we make decisions in our life that we know to be against our moral code, we drift a little further away from our soul.

In the case of Laura Bush, she is clearly a person who at one time might have been a "normal" person. But to become part of the bush* family almost necessarily means that you are involved in criminal, inhumane, and immoral activities.

When we come across people we can usually tell how close to their soul they are. The ones who make us feel good, who light up a room when they enter, who draw people closer to them are the ones who are in touch with God (soul). The there's the opposite - all the bush's*.

How's that for a little Wed morning pop philosophy?

:)

27. Maybe she's a robot...

"In the late '70s, a Japanese roboticist named Masahiro Mori published what would become a highly influential insight into the interplay between robotic design and human psychology. Mori's central concept holds that if you plot similarity to humans on the x-axis against emotional reaction on the y, you'll find a funny thing happens on the way to the perfectly lifelike android. Predictably, the curve rises steadily, emotional embrace growing as robots become more human-like. But at a certain point, just shy of true verisimilitude, the curve plunges down, through the floor of neutrality and into real revulsion, before rising again to a second peak of acceptance that corresponds with 100 percent human-like. This chasm—Mori's Uncanny Valley—represents the notion that something that's like a human but slightly off will make people recoil. Here there be monsters."
