Is he insane?! Bush Asks Congress for Tax Cut Extension

WASHINGTON (AP) - House and Senate Republicans, at President Bush's bidding, have started working to extend tax cuts for wage earners, married couples and parents, a summertime reminder to voters of tax breaks passed on the president's watch.

Bush wants the package to be completed next week, before the Republican and Democratic parties hold their presidential nominating conventions, White House spokesman Trent Duffy said.

"The president wants to get this done," he said.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., said he didn't know whether the bill can be assembled and passed in time to meet the president's target, however.

4. Well there's a good chance
This might be good strategy though. I mean it's clearly a bad news for the long term economy, but it forces future President Kerry and future Vice President Edwards to vote against a tax cut during the election campaign.

However, I don't know if he has the political clout to make it happen, as witnessed by Frist's statement.

9. I don't see how this could be a good move on smirky's part.
All Kerry has to do is remind people of the cost of war, the ballooning budget deficit, the huge trade deficit, the federal cuts to first responders...The list can go on.

I know very little about economics but I know that our nation simply cannot afford another tax cut.

5. Well, all Democrats have to do is allow the Repugs to continue
drooling anti-gay venom for days... That will take care of this crap.

8. Oh, he's quite sane.
Tax cuts are a fallback item for him. They're a cheap pop.

Here's $300 from Unkie' George. What a swell guy he is.

10. Buying people's votes is against the law!
But who cares it's just politics!
