Candy Ass Shrub STILL Whining About Fundraiser
You can really tell Shrubbie has a lot going on in his head. From bashing gays to whining about what mean things were said about him by actors and comedians, you just know he's a-thinking all the time. Yep, quite an inspiring leader we got here.

(CNN): President Bush criticized Democrats on Tuesday over a fund-raiser last week where celebrities used off-color language and called him a "thug" and a "liar."

...During the event, comedian Whoopi Goldberg made sexually explicit comments that were puns on Bush's name and singer John Mellancamp referred to the president as a "thug." Comedian Chevey Chase called Bush a "liar" and "bright as an egg timer," while actor Paul Newman called the Bush administration's tax cuts "borderline criminal."

Hunh. I wonder what Shrub's problem is here. People I talk to say far worse things about the mental half-pint on an almost daily basis. Then again, the Executive Slumber Bunny never does stay awake late enough to hear what they have to say about him on late night TV...

1. Has Bush released video of his campaign speech to wingnut CNPers yet?
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 09:57 AM by blm
Uh....No. Bush refuses to allow the CNP to release that 2000 campaign speech even though several media organizations requested it.

Rumor has it that Bush promised to deliver a far right wing agenda the CNP wanted, he just didn't want the rest of the country to see him doing it, since he was running as a more moderate Republican.

From a 2002 ABC News article on the CNP:
In 1999, candidate George W. Bush spoke before a closed-press CNP session in San Antonio. His speech, contemporaneously described as a typical mid-campaign ministration to conservatives, was recorded on audio tape.

(Depending on whose account you believe, Bush promised to appoint only anti-abortion-rights judges to the Supreme Court, or he stuck to his campaign "strict constructionist" phrase. Or he took a tough stance against gays and lesbians, or maybe he didn't).

The media and center-left activist groups urged the group and Bush's presidential campaign to release the tape of his remarks. The CNP, citing its bylaws that restrict access to speeches, declined. So did the Bush campaign, citing the CNP.

Shortly thereafter, magisterial conservatives pronounced the allegedly moderate younger Bush fit for the mantle of Republican leadership.

3. I wish they would still whine about Cheney's "go, f*ck yourself"
and while we are at it, why don't those a**holes release Cheney's documents from his secret energy meetings? Or any documents related to the non-bid contracts Halliburten got?

4. I see more republicans more pissed off about this fundraising video
then they were the prison scandal.

It is OK to torture prisoners but they will be God damned if anyone talks bad about smirky.

Does anyone know how many republicans called Clinton a liar and a criminal? I am sure it is no small number. They don't like others to play by the rules they established.

5. Why don't you sue them, Georgie?
I'd suggest the cause of action be styled as "Definition of Character."

He's sure good at dishing it out; far less so at taking it. Cheney off, George.

11. Can't beat this kind of publicity
Time to turn that Fundraiser tape in a commercially available DVD. And since it contains stuff that pissed off Shrub it will sell in the millions.

It's called freedom of freaking speech Chucklenuts. We all know you seem to hate it (except for your freedom to speak) but get used to it. We are. And btw, a lot of those criticisms of you and your "policies" are spot on.
