Bush bird flip makes Air America
On Al Franken, some guy apparently sang a song he wrote about the protester who says George W. Bush flipped him off as his campaign bus rolled through the Lancaster, PA, area.

Here's the flippee's report ...

Here's the general Bush protest story from (very conservative) Lancaster County, for those who missed it.

1. I can't think of any bigger honor than to be flipped off by Bush
other than voting him out of office.

3. That Lancaster article is horrible! Publishing addresses of protesters!
The men who were arrested for trying to recreate the prisoner pyramid from the Abu Ghraib prison had their home addresses published...what kind of society is there out in Pennsylvania??

I wonder if they also let you know how to stalk real criminals?

8. It's an American society...
...which means a mixed bag, of course!

I have relatives there. They're conservative, but they're also fed up with politicians playing games.

Read the replies to the online article, though. It sounds like the county's liberal contingent, which I unfortunately don't run into when I'm there.

7. And you have to understand ...
... that this protest story was published in the editorially CONSERVATIVE paper in Lancaster (which cheerleads for Bush on the editorial page). They did cover the Bush visit to death, but the fact that they included a whole story on the protesters is really amazing!

The address thing ... well, it's a consistent rule, to be equal to everyone, from what I understand. They run the address of everyone whose arrest/citation they print in the paper -- everyone in the police log, for example, is identified with an address. So, that's what happened there.

6. I flipped off G.H.W.Bush
...or his stunt double.

I was on Washington Circle walking from Foggy Bottom Metro to
Georgetown in DC when his motorcade came by. Must've been
'90 or '91. I remember reading in the paper the next day that he'd
been at the Kennedy Center the night before. Anyway, his limo
and entourage drove by, presumably on their way 'home' to
the White House. There were dozens of people on the circle, and
I remember about 3/4 of them booing and giving the finger to
him. I THINK I saw him in one of the limos, waving out to us
peons (could'a been a double, or 'Bar' with 5-o'clock shadow).

They respond well to it.

I gave him the finger like John 'Big Bootay' Bigboote did to
John Whorfin late in the movie "Buckaroo Banzai Across the
8th Dimension" after Whorfin yelled at him.

9. ROFL!!! "Boys, I do believe the President of the U.S. ...
A ponytailed man standing next to us confirmed the event, saying, "I do believe the President of the U.S. just gave you boys the finger."

Somebody owes me a new monitor for that one!!! *still laughing out loud*

Wish the photo would have turned out better.
