Serious Question about the Bush Twins Campaigning |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 02:08 PM by Beware the Beast Man
I know this has been discussed ad nauseum in all forums. I'm sure my question may have been discussed, but I did a search and couldn't find anything. So, I need to ask:
Does the recent spotlight on the Bush girls campaigning for pops smack of target demographics? I say this with the utmost sincerity: it seems as if Rove is trying to cater to the horny male age 18-49 demographic.
What do you think???
EDIT-some clarification- seems as if the Bush daughters, to me anyway, are being used for their youthful appeal.
DOUBLE SECRET EDIT- PLEASE do not turn this into a battle of the sexes thread. Keep it civilized.

5. That's what they're implying |
|
But I get a sense that there is some underlying tactic to use their sex appeal as well. Face it: they're young and attractive. Good way to stir up the indecisive young bucks who normally don't give a damn about politics.

3. I think Karl is not thinking at all. |
|
You KNOW those two are bound to get into very embarrassing trouble while traipsing around the country. And God help the Rethugs if they ever get near a microphone unescorted.

I think their campaign appearances are targeted at upper middle class women and wannabes, "Bush tax cuts will keep wealth where it belongs, with the wealthy, and your children will enjoy a gracious life of inherited ease and privilege."

but my guess is that the horny 18-49 male who would vote for a candidate based on the appeal of his daughters is the same idiot who's either already voting for Bush or too stupid to find his way to the polling site ... if so though, I think it's more the dirty old man vote that it attracts (my dad is 53 and starts drooling every time he sees Jenna Bush ... of course he thinks Fox News is part of the liberal media too)

You see, they're grasping straws. It's any port in the storm nowadays when it comes to vote-getting.

9. I saw a picture of Jenna? (the blond one) prone on a sidewalk drunk |
|
This was a picture that showed more of her "nether" parts than anybody (at least me) really would want to see. Are they going to use this picture as part of their family values campaign.

12. Their "targeting" of the younger vote is the first thing I thought of. |
|
They're trying to counter the enegizing of the youth by Kerry/Edwards. Everything the Bushes do is planned. Just like Jenna now saying she wants to be a teacher in Harlem. Puhlease! :puke:

14. don't forget the other one |

Barbara saying she wants to go help AIDS patients in Africa and eastern Europe ... heard a mention on cable news this morning about how they're being smart by campaigning for Daddy instead of starting their careers now because if they did that, they would be accused of just going into do-gooding fields to reflect well on their father ... in other words, blaming Democrats for being cynical about something that hasn't even happened, making the Bush daughters look smart (cough, gag), but still getting them in front of the cameras for his campaign and still getting the message across very clearly about how concerned they are for human beings less fortunate than they are -- all at once!! ... wow, "Bush/Cheney '04 -- If You Liked Shock and Awe, You'll Love Smoke and Mirrors"

Shrubby wants to use his daughters to political advantage, that they should also be prone to investigative journalism (if we still even have any real journalists anymore). I wouldn't mind seeing some more pictures of Jenna, drunk as a skunk with a cigarette hanging out of her hand, as she collapses onto a barroom floor. Just like her daddy.

18. Then they need to appear on MTV. |
|
Get together some kids with questions:
* How can I educate myself without wealth & connections?
* How can I get a good job?
* Will there be a draft?
* What about my right to choose?
Give them a chance to prove their worth; or just let them continue doing photo-ops.
