Here's the story line: One of President George W. Bush's leading fund-raisers launches a film-producing career with a minidocumentary about Senator John F. Kerry, premiering the film less than four months before Kerry and Bush face off in the November election.

Hardly. Christopher F. Egan's new film, "Eclipsed by The Sun -- The Political Education of John Kerry," is a pretty straightforward account of Kerry's ill-fated 1972 congressional campaign in the Massachusetts Fifth Congressional District.
The film will premiere to an invitation-only audience at Loews, Boston Common theater on Thursday, July 22, a week before Kerry accepts the Democratic presidential nomination at the party's convention in Boston.
