Poll question: Do freepers like climbing up on crosses and nailing themselves to it?
Edited on Wed Jul-14-04 02:08 PM by apnu
Some select freeper quotes for educational purposes.

"That's the catch. You can change any horse but they will A-L-W-A-Y-S find an excuse not to make it happen. We were told that if we had ALL 3 branches of government we would see a conservative agenda. FALSE! But put a liberal 3 branch in place & all he!! liberalism flourishes. How does that happen??? You all are being duped by the elites that control 90% plus of these bastards & they will never allow a conservative agenda to get traction. Guaranteed"

"Really anymore to do anything in the Senate to avoid these filibusters, we need to have a "super majority" of Repubs."

"We need a new political party."

"We need a new political party. Rid us of this "Two-Party Cartel". Remember ALWAYS on substantial issues this cartel will make sure that conservative issues NEVER gets passed. I guarantee that if we don't rid ourselves of this cartel we will NEVER have these kinds of votes go our way - Guaranteed."

"They new this would be defeated and they did it so they can get cover and move on. The Republicans can't even win on an issue that 75%-80% of the public agrees on."

"I don't think that's fair to the GOP. It's nowhere near 75-80% in the polls..."

"Good news for the CONSTITUTION!"

"Oh, yeah. Now wacko judges can keep interpreting it however they want. Great news."

So here's my question. Do you think Freepers are a bunch of martyrs?

6. Also
inbred hillbilly morons. But, to respond to the poll taker, I voted other - because frankly, it's fun to see these assholes getting demoralized, even if there's no sound basis for it.

3. Nah. Freepers are like the monkeys in 2001, except
they're before the Monolith comes and makes them evolve.

4. I Think They Are Traitorous Fucking Assholes
Anyone who continues to support the current administration in light of the facts is a fucking traitor, and I couldn't care less what their personality disorder might be.

5. These People Are Paranoid Nutjobs
Did you see the one where the guy got nasty about Dick Cheney approving of his daughter's lesbianism? What's he supposed to do, cut her out of the family and pretend she doesn't exist or jail her as a terrorist so she's no longer an embarrassment to the extreme right wing?

I'm guessing all these people who believe homosexuals and lesbians are out there just waiting to turn your child gay or promote an agenda of doing away with straights are insane. They've obviously never met a gay person, or if they have, the gay person was smart enough not to tell them, lest they go Matthew Shepherd on him.

I've known people who have been rabidly anti-homosexual, until their son or daughter comes out of the closet. Then, after some exposure to their children's friends, some understanding, those people wave the rainbow flag higher and prouder than some of the most militant gay activists.

Why are people so afraid of what they don't understand, instead of striving to learn more about it?

I also saw in that thread that now, married gays can claim one or the other on their 1040 forms, so taxes are going to go up. Yeah, like people don't have a kid every year until their houses are bursting for the deductions. I've known Republicans who call their children their little deductions. So they want to deny that lousy $1000 deduction? Thing is, if you file separately, don't you get the same deduction? (I've never been married. I don't know what the standard deduction is for a couple.)

I also saw something about Medicare. Obviously that person has never known anyone over 65 who is on that. That is an individual thing.

I'm sick of hearing how gay marriage makes a mockery of marriage. You have people marrying through agencies so some idiot can get a green card without going through the proper channels. You've got Britany Spears and her 55 hour marriage. Newt Gingrich filed for divorce from his first wife while she was undergoing treatment for cancer. Rush Limbaugh is at least a two-time loser. Sexual allegations against Arnold Schwarzenegger went uninvestigated. No one cared nearly as much as the claims against Clinton. Jack Ryan, well, I won't even go there. Those are off the top of my head.

Marriage has been a mockery for more years than I can count. Quicky divorces took care of that. People don't even have to work out their problems anymore or think twice before getting married. But as Republicans love to divorce each other after rushing into things, I'm not surprised that divorce isn't listed as part of the breakdown of society.

Or maybe it was at one time. Before they all started getting divorces. I do know when my mother was young, it was scandalous for a couple to get a divorce. My grandparents didn't live together like the last 10 years before the first of them died. But they were Catholic and weren't allowed to get a divorce. The Priest wouldn't allow it.

I also want to know, what is the difference between civil unions and marriage? No one will explain that to me. I keep asking, is marriage something that is between the church and a couple? If a civil union doesn't require a piece of paper, but allows all the same benefits as marriage, what is the point of getting married anyway?
