House + Senate + Whitehouse = biggest budget deficits ever |
|
I haven't heard this argument being made very often by Democrats ... for years, we've heard an endless stream of right-wing whining about those big spender Democrats ... "Democrats are mortgaging your children's future with their reckless spending ..."
But wait a minute ... Democrats don't control the House ... Democrats don't control the Senate ... Democrats don't control the Whitehouse ...
So, how is it possible that all those fiscally conservative Republicans we keep hearing about have run up the largest budget deficits in our country's history?
Well, maybe it's 9/11 and Iraq ... but gosh, could this be more expensive than WWII? what do you think about that WWII vets? could it cost more than the war in Vietnam with more than 500,000 troops sent 1/2 way around the globe? Vietnam vets? do you believe this? how about the Cold War and competing with the Russians over fantastically expensive military hardware? nope ... Iraq and Afghanistan couldn't cost more than the Cold War ... a few extra cargo inspectors hired by the "consolidated and efficient" Homeland Security department and 140,000 undersupplied troops in Iraq doesn't seem to account for the difference ...
Let's face it, war and terrorism aren't free but they are being exploited as a convenient excuse for rampant Republican recklessness ... the sad news is that the economy will never roar again like it did under Clinton until we get these runaway deficits under control ... any recovery, that some believe is currently underway, will be short-lived ... jobs will not be created and the stock market will not recover anytime soon because business people understand the risks the deficit has created ... we're in big trouble because of these massive deficits ...
and those that can no longer hide from the big spender label are those who control the purse strings ... let's make damned sure the American people get the message loud and clear: we cannot afford to leave any branch of our government in the hands of the fiscally irresponsible, big spender Republicans ...
if you want to start healing the wrongs that have been inflicted on our economy, if you want to see a healthy job climate return, and if you understand that your retirement and your children's future have been put at risk but the regime currently in power, you'll vote for Democrats to take control of the government so that fiscal sanity can be restored ...

3. Well, it's pretty clear how much you hate America! |
|
Don't you know that the Democrats secretly control the budget, even though they're in the minority in both houses of Congress and out of the White House? And their mind control rays are causing those good-hearted, Christian Republicans to spend all that money we don't have? But revenues will pick up any second now because of all the tax cuts, which got passed only because the Republicans weren't mind-controlled by the Democrats for a little while. And 2 + 2 isn't 4, it's 5, dammit!
And why aren't you outraged that Hillary isn't the Democratic nominee?
