Senators You Don't Hear Enough About: |
|
I was thinking of a couple senators I don't hear much about anymore. Daniel Inouye is from Hawaii, a wounded war veteran (lost his arm, I think?). Seems like he used to have a higher profile. Is he even still in office? I see that he voted against the IWR. Is it because he is a native Hawaiian that he was never considered for a VP slot?
The other is Republican Lincoln Chafee from Rhode Island. While some Dems are inexplicably taken with McCain, Chafee is the real counterpart to Zell Miller. If there were to ever be a true bipartisan ticket (which I'm not especially hoping for), Chafee would be the one to be on it. But somehow McCain seems to get all the press.

Perhaps one of our Hawaiian DUers can shed some light on Inouye?

2. Another is Ron Wyche D-Oregon. |

He's a stauch liberal...yet, I wish he would get more press. He's been a good man on our side.
